A USA Today best-selling series
A California Young Reader Medal-winning series

In this riveting debut, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world - before the wrong person finds the answer first.

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks....

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death - and time is running out.

Hated the narrator

Her impression of Sophie annoyed me so much that I don’t even want to pick up the rest of the books.
Story itself was fine. Very Mary Sue. Not that big of a fan but it’ll do for younger audiences.

Great book would recommend

The performances were great i really loved the variety of different voices, and the story was amazing the plot twists where truly unpredictable. That really speaks to me because in most books like this you can see the plot twists coming from near the begging so good job :)

The best book

It was the best book i have ever listened to i am 14 and most people my age have lost there imagination but i haven't which made that book even more special. I think this book series is so underrated since its such a incredible series, its perfect for fans or harry potter and is a really good fantasy book, typically for a younger teens but I'm 14 and still love it :)

Good book

kinda like a mix between Winx club, Harry Potter and Narnia
Winx club because elves with magical powers
Harry Potter because of the magical school
and Narnia because of the magical world parallel to our own

I liked how the author actually took time to describe the magical classes, monsters and the magical world and to give the side characters actual personalities, it helped to bring the world to life.

There's to many books nowadays that revolve completely around the main character, it leaves the world and other characters feeling flat as if they wouldn't exist other then when the main character needs them.

This book is awesome though, the world and the characters in it feel alive, they have their own emotions that conflict with the main characters at times, this makes it feel more real as if the main character really is a 12 year old girl lost in a fully functioning world run by adults that would not take the whims of a child into consideration when planning things.
