Publisher's Summary

More than a mere overview, the audiobook offers listeners a strong grounding in the basic principles of Jung's analytical psychology in addition to illuminating insights.

"Probably the best one-volume English language summary of Jung's thought." (Choice)

"Himself a widely regarded analyst, Stein presents Jung's major theoretical contributions in language as uncomplicated as the subject allows...Aimed at the general reader but sufficiently academic for the specialist, this is an excellent basic book on the subject." (Booklist)

"Writing for the general reader, Stein provides an outline of Jung's basic concepts that is clearly written and indicates some of the distinctions between Jung's thinking and Freud's." (Publishers Weekly)

Great content, poor performance

Stein does a great job of synthesizing Jung's main ideas and theories. Narrator did not engage me with the content, reading too fast with no enthusiasm.

Hopeless narrator 😩 is a barrier to a brilliant book

The narrator sound like a grade 3 reader with no subtlety or feeling for the text.

What a shame as the text itself is such a rich and insightful distillation of Jung.

Great book, narration rushed.

This book is a great introduction to Jung. It helped me grasp a lot of Jung’s ideas which I had only understood in name only. I think I am now better equipped at studying Jung academic essay after reading this book. The audiobook reader, although their voice and melody is not bad, he reads too fast. After about 5 hrs I got use to it, but still, too rushed for my liking.

Why the hurry??

Fantastic insights into Jung's theories, however the narrator was in such a rush to get through the material that it was uncomfortable to listen to! Please take a breath and enjoy the material that you present.
