À 17 ans, le jeune homme quitte son village natal de Valcourt pour Montréal, où il espère parfaire ses connaissances en suivant des cours du soir en mécanique et en électricité automobile. C’est lui qui mettra au point la célèbre autoneige B7 en 1937. D’autres inventions le feront connaître à travers le Canada et poseront les assises de la compagnie multinationale qui porte encore aujourd’hui son nom.
Joseph-Armand Bombardier est un grand inventeur et créateur de notre époque. Il demeure une figure emblématique du 20e siècle.
