Publisher's Summary

The fate of Artimé is at stake - and an unlikely alliance could redeem it - in book three in the New York Times best-selling Unwanteds series.

The magical world of Artimé is gone. The Unwanteds have no food, no water, and no hope. And everyone is looking to Alex Stowe for answers.

Overwhelmed and feeling totally helpless, Alex knows it’s up to him to find a way to restore Artimé, rescue his captive friends, and free Megan from her voice-stealing necklace of thorns - three impossible tasks. But could help lie with the silent, orange-eyed newcomers?

Meanwhile, Alex’s twin brother Aaron continues to build his army in the stark land of Quill, preparing for the ultimate showdown with the Unwanteds. But a shocking twist reveals that Alex and Aaron share a common enemy more dangerous than either could have imagined...

What I Think

I LOVED it! Except for the fact that the narrator doesn't even sound like a girl whenever he does the girls' voices! Plus, he makes the voices sound the same for the girls! AND... he's barely even reading with expression! But overall, great job!

Good story, bad reader

The readers voice is so blank and bland. I did not enjoy it from chapter one. I loveeee this story, and had read the whole series in 5th grade. I wanted to reread it,on audible. I absolutely drooled over the series and wanted more more more, but i do not find it as appealing with this voice actor...i would love this even more if there whole series was voiced by the same person...not this one though.

:)

There are a few wrong pronunciations such as the name Gunner. It simply is Gun-ner, not Goon-ner. Eva Fathom is Eve-a, not Ave-a. It is pronounced Larn-nie, not Lanni. Some of the voices for the characters are different to the voices I am used to. Especially e voices for Karina, Eva and Simba’s. Clear voice though.

Great story. Please don’t change the voices for each book, since this is a series. If this had been the reader for the first book I wouldn’t have minded since I had nothing to compare to; making me unable to correct the pronunciations. Once again try to keep it to only one or two readers per series.

Otherwise, thank you for making this into an Audible. And thank you Steve West for reading the book.

Amazing Story

My kids and I are still listening to this series and enjoying it. Alex is supposed to fix everything but is completely clueless as to how. He was never taught what to do but everyone is looking to him for answers. Meanwhile, Aaron is still ruling Quill and determined to take over Artime.
I really do like how the author shows the two brothers to be so alike and yet so vastly different. Alex is good and cares for others. Aaron seems selfcentered and only cares about furthering his own rule. The system of Quill is crazy but the people there seem content with it becasue they just know no better. I cannot wait to see where these characters go next but this was a great book.
It is a 5/5 for us! We love these characters.

Hate the reader. Love the book.

His Simber voice is so bad. Instead of rolling his 'R's, he just says the r sound longer. If you know what I mean. Also, he does the Simber voice in this super cringy growly voice, but talks really slowly when he does it. The accent is also distracting if you live in America.
