ねぶた祭は江戸時代に始まりましたが、その起源は古くからある七夕の灯籠流しだったといわれています。
現在は、1000個近い電球を取り付け、武者などが描かれた巨大な山車の「ねぶた」が20台ほど登場し、毎夜、町を練り歩きます。
山車のまわりで「ハネト」と呼ばれる踊り子たちが踊り、彼らの威勢のいい掛け声が、祭りを盛り上げます。
青森市のねぶた祭の開催期間は、毎年8月2日からの6日間。毎年300万人近い見物客が押し寄せるこの祭りでは、ハネトの衣装をレンタルして踊りに参加することもできます。©2017 KODANSHA
