Editorial reviews

One of the most influential works of literature ever written, Dante’s Inferno, has been used as inspiration in the explosive Book Four in the Robert Langdon series, the action thriller audiobook, Inferno from award-winning author Dan Brown and narrated by American actor Paul Michael. Europe becomes a hunting ground for clues as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon follows an intense mystery encircled by Dante’s masterpiece work. The plot in this latest installment appears at first to be twisting and unpredictable but like all of Brown’s novels, comes together so intricately and flawless you are left stunned with its brilliance. Available now from Audible.

Publisher's Summary

Dan Brown’s new novel, Inferno, features renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon and is set in the heart of Europe, where Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centred around one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces.

As Dan Brown comments: "Although I studied Dante's Inferno as a student, it wasn't until recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante's work on the modern world. With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep into this mysterious realm… a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a few secret passageways."

Entertaining

I do love Dan Brown novels, and this one did not disappoint. I also love Italy especially Venice and Florence. I could easily picture where this story unfolded which added to the intrigue. There is a predictable formula in Brown's stories .... dashing middle aged Langdon highly respected and a young attractive intelligent female who helps him. However, I find him entertaining and enjoyable. It's not trying to be the worlds best literature ..... well worth a read.

Could have been better

While the whole novel was enjoyable, the ending was soppy and somewhat passé. Not a waste of time.

Good but slow

Started off real slow, I almost gave up but glad I pushed through. I enjoyed the difference in book vs movie, made this story a bit more thrilling

Riviting...Does not disappoint

What made the experience of listening to Inferno the most enjoyable?

This is another in the Prof Robert Langdon series and does not disappoint at all if you are a mad keen Dan Brown fan (moi, par exemple!:))and if you are new to Dan Brown no matter you genre of choice, this book will appeal to them all, sci-fi (don't worry about the farfetched although possibly plausible in some strange manner, plot, history, anthropology, genetics, bioloogy, medicine, the subject list goes on..... just read it and you won't be disappoint, I promise!!

What other book might you compare Inferno to, and why?

The Da Vinci Code, this is the first in this book series and the story, plot etc are just as strong as this original sci-fi blockbuster!!

Which scene did you most enjoy?

the whole book

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

yes, but I can't reveal it without revealing the plot!

Any additional comments?

just listen to it asap, it's a really fantastic book - I would only recommend that there be a female reading the female parts, not that the reader did not do a good job with is voice..... that wouldn't stop me listening to /reading the book again though
