Thoroughly and objectively presented

I enjoyed the concise presentation, the use of points of view for either side of a conflict, and the way the information was organized. The presenter is easy to understand.

Got all, what I need about incas civilization.

As a general history, this is really excellent work. The politics, economy and society of the Inca are intertwined with the personal histories.

A must read to learn a better history.

I formerly did not know much about the civilization of Inca. Other books show the Inca as a unified history, this book dismisses that notion with a clearer picture of how they indeed were prearranged. This is highly recommended for every ancient lover.

Any additional comments?

At the end I felt like I was really missing the characters, because they had become so alive in the book. I have a new understanding and appreciation for the Inca, and would love to discover more.

An amazing book, impossible to put it down. Obviously well researched, and given in such detail that seems to come to life as recent History.

More than interesting about the Incas.

Captivating History Series, it is a great series with lots of fresh information in this area... This was maybe my favorite one thus far. An extraordinary people were the Incas. Just so sad that most of what we know about the Incas was written in other language. This was due to the Inca never developing a system of writing.

This book listen like an exciting historical novel but it is all sadly too true and helps to explain how modern South America came to be what it is today. General fans of history and military history enthusiasts will find this an absorbing good

valuable book

The author explains clearly that the only primary sources are from the victors, and that even those may have been fanciful accounts by individuals who were more interested in their own self-aggrandizement

great understandable

A Very well researched book that explores not only the differing cultures but highlights mans unflinching avarice and greed, often becoming more savage than the "savages" being conquered in the name of a God the inca never could comprehend or understand.

A fact that is all too clear

Any additional comments?

It is fascinating to write the strong history superiority that is described by the author and the views of the Spanish conquistadors towards the Incas that were possible during this period of history and to recognize how these circumstances shaped the type of history that was written during this period, a fact that is all too clear to overlook.

Filled with a lot of historical events

Any additional comments?

Filled with a lot of historical events and gave a wonderful look back at the short history these marvelous people and their culture. The writer wrote it many years after the time there and he does over embellish for impact but that's fine.
