About this listen

In his main work, the best-selling Worlds in Collision, Immanuel Velikovsky gave a detailed reconstruction of two global natural catastrophes based on information handed down by our ancestors. He mentions there that, as part of his intensive research, he found numerous indications of even more catastrophes that took place earlier in the history of mankind.

In the present book, the material collected by Velikovksy about this topic is presented to the public for the first time. His findings show just how turbulent the history of Earth and our planetary system was during the time of mankind and how little we actually know of all that today.

Immanuel Velikovsky I believe, has been unfairly treated by some in the scientific/archaeological community and thence ny the public.
The fact is, he examined and hypothesized, with many learnered men and societies and universities of note, on many historical, archaelogical and astronomical phenomenon. He did much of this in the 1940's and 1950's, way before exceptionally strong telescopes, and space exploration.
Some have latched on to only some of the more "out there" hypothesis and have, in turn, ruined his reputation and hidden the numerous other hypothesis that he got right!
He was a researcher and thinker, seeking solutions and on this I think he should be commended. Silently trusting the science is exactly what scientists dont do - science should always be questioned, that is the only way we expand our understanding of how things work.
Well worth a listen if only to gleen a perspective from the 1940's and 1950's of what our planets may be like.

Many hypothesis on why & how, before the space age.
