Publisher's Summary
Are they Cursed as well as Chosen? Kael Vapensigsson is one of the elite Chosen - a Warlord whose strength comes from the gods themselves.
When Kael summons Ishtaer, a blind slave, to his room and discovers the marks of the Chosen on her body, including the revered mark of the Warrior, both Warlord and slave seem to have met their match. But as their lives become increasingly entangled, Ishtaer wonders whether the Chosen are ever able to choose their own fate.

love this book
i truely enjoyed the characters and the storylines in this book. the world building was fabulous and descriptive. the characters were believable with faults and insecurities of there own.
as part of the character building there are references to triggers, so be warned.
Kate Johnson is an amazing author and I love her style of writing.
Penelope Rawlins did an amazing job with the narration.
highly recommended with 5 stars from me.

I love this book
There’s a little bit of out of character with the whole story and speech patterns (book/setting/world wise)etc, but once you get past that it’s great.
Definitely one of my favourite rereads. I love watching them all grow throughout the book.
