When we were young, Sarah and I spent all our time in a place we called the Doll House. It was just an old, abandoned cottage in the woods behind our house, but it was heaven to us. Until one of our games went wrong. And someone ended up dead.

I agree with all those readers who said they couldn’t stop listening. Compelling novel with great ending. It was so well written & the narrator was so skilful switching accents & so easy to listen to. It kept me captivated throughout the whole book.

Best thing about this book? Only a few characters make it easy to remember who is who and the plot itself is good - has some twists. But the pace is slow and far too drawn out. Unnecessary conversations that state the obvious, are speckled throughout. This novel could be halved to make an excellent tale.

This was my first Casey Kelleher book. Only one story ever affected my emotions as much as this did. Tragic but amazing story telling. I will be reading more of Casey's books, but am hoping they are not as heartbreaking. Was hard to put down as I just had to find out if there was a happy ending for them.

I picked the main twist halfway through but I did not pick the end nor did I pick one of the twists until right before it was discovered. I thoroughly enjoyed the story even though it was quite sad. Very well written and narrated
