La vita scorre pacifica nel piccolo villaggio africano di Amir e Aynka. I due ragazzi che si conoscono fin da bambini, sono destinati a sposarsi. Ma la scoperta di un metallo raro porta lo sconvolgimento nella vita del villaggio e costringe molti a emigrare. Amir e Aynka si separano e dopo molte avventure e sofferenze si ricongiungono in Italia, dove tutti e due hanno trovato rifugio.
