Im April 1945 erreichte die Front das kleine märkische Dorf Halbe, das bis dahin kaum jemand kannte. Doch was sich dann auf den Straßen in sowie auch um diese Ortschaft abspielte, wurde eine der blutigsten Schlachten des Zweiten Weltkrieges.
Was im Kriegsjahr 1943 in Stalingrad geschehen war, wiederholte sich zwei Jahre später scheinbar hier.
Eine Kesselschlacht begann und nur wenige können heute noch bestätigen, welchen Mut und welchen Einsatz deutsche Soldaten bei dieser Kesselschlacht bewiesen hatten!
