About this listen

Morgan Powell was raised to be perfect, to set an example for her sisters to follow. Her life has been dedicated to making something of her career, so she wouldn't know what to do with a man even if you gave her an instruction manual.

Brett "Ice" Grady spends his days trying to keep up with his teenage daughter, his nights consumed in the Regulators' MC business. He has no time for anything more than a casual hookup.

Two worlds collide when the dangers of his life crash into the calm of hers.

Can she go beyond her own boundaries and chip her way through to the man known to be as cold as ice?

Contains mature themes.

It was a great story

l swear MC guys are always so predictable in bed, but I suppose that is the obvious attraction. The eventual capture of the bad guy was very simple, it could have been a lot more involved with such past specialised training for the characters.

Clean or dirty biker Heroes?

I really got caught up in the storyline and the brutal realities of these topics.
the history behind the alphas and the world building is great however, Ice i could not warm to, the unemotional man he's depicted as doesn't seem to soften toward the h, he's just to arrogant and detached. normally, the alpha starts out that way, but eventually, he sees himself and the error of his character toward his h.
not so Ice. if it's meant to be that way, then the writing didn't convince me.
then the trope of the innocence versus age of the h just isn't my thing, and I shook my head.
the hot and cold feelings between the 2 characters just don't compute for me. there isn't any slow burn or introspection of emotions to let their relationship grow.
he's spiteful when conversing with her, then tells her top secrets before he's even got her commitment. nope, not for me.
the big suprise in this plotline is that there are no steamy scenes until the very end. When it happens, his words and the scene just made me eyeroll.
With most MCs, it's a virtual given that smut is in most chapters.
the whole story between the main characters just does not flow. however, the story around it is brilliant.
I'm not sure if I'm heading to book 2. don't think so.
I have listened to chelsea camaron before, and I do like her other books.
maxine mitchell is one of my favourite narrators, but not even her voice could help here.
Jeremy York, I've listened to before and enjoy his tone and inflections.

struggled with the direction

Story didn’t grab me and I’d rather use a credit on one that does. Could be good, just not for me.

DNF

Sorry, but the book is terrible. It was a real struggle to finish it… But the last chapter, when they finally do get together made me cringe so hard that I can definitely tell you, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME LISTENING TO IT. Find a new book, it will probably be better.

Could be a -1 star
