About this listen
Ten years ago, David and Dawn Michaels purchased a “Fixer Upper” mobile home in Shady Lane, a fifty-five plus community. It was peaceful living until the day new neighbors moved in three homes away, bringing with them lies, deceit and…death.
This is a true story of a couple who got caught up in the twisted tangled mind of a narcissistic pathological liar that changed their lives forever.

It feels like petty people reading their journals
The narrators sound like they are reading directly from a journal. It’s not spoken naturally.
The story itself is pretty much like when you overhear your parents gossiping about the neighbours… and every day there’s something slightly more to talk about so they repeat the same things over again a million times to each other…
The book itself should have a warning for animal cruelty. Which was disturbing.
It’s basically a battle between 2 petty women who each wanted to win a neighbourly dispute over stray cats!! That weren’t the authors cats, but she kept referring to them as hers. So confusing!
One of the neighbours was mean to animals and enjoyed starting drama with others… BUT
The other (the Author)- didn’t do enough to get on top of the situation to prevent the terrible events from occurring even though it was obvious that they would! And did… continually!
Maria Roti just spent her days complaining about how terrible the neighbours were without being pro active to protect her own stuff including “her cats”.
Frustrating to listen to, not very riveting and narrated poorly.
It didn’t really have to be a 10 hour book… it could have just been a 10 min phone call to a friend to have a vent about the terrible neighbours down the street!
But the author plays victim while mocking the other neighbour for playing the victim. It’s ironic!
She comes across as someone with no ability to look at her own actions.
Save yourself 10 hours of your life that you’ll never get back!
