Story
Marissa Irvine arrives at 14 Tudor Grove, expecting to pick up her young son Milo from his first playdate with a boy at his new school. But the woman who answers the door isn't a mother she recognises. She isn't the nanny. She doesn't have Milo. And so begins every parent's worst nightmare. As news of the disappearance filters through the quiet Dublin suburb and an unexpected suspect is named, whispers start to spread about the women most closely connected to the shocking event. Because only one of them may have taken Milo - but they could all be blamed.

Story
Calabria, Italy, 1936. In a remote farming village nestled in the mountains that descend into the sparkling Ionian Sea, young and spirited Giulia Tallariti longs for something more. While she loves her home and her lively family, she would much rather follow in her nonna’s footsteps and pursue her dream of becoming a healer. But as Mussolini’s focus shifts to the war in Europe, civil unrest looms. Whispers of war are at every corner and her beloved village, once safe from the fascist agenda of the North, is now in very real danger.

Story
Last night, we celebrated our anniversary. Over candlelight, we talked about the children, our work, and I was so happy, and felt so loved. But the next morning, when I check my phone, there is a message. From a friend. And a string of photos appear of my husband, Will, with another woman: walking along the street holding hands. Going into fancy hotels. Standing at a window, his arms around her, her head on his shoulder…

Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
Narrated by Emilia Fox.
It started with a kiss
And ended in murder....
The darkly addictive new novel from the Sunday Times best-selling author of I Looked Away, Blood Sisters and My Husband's Wife.
In Poppy Page's mind, there are two types of women in this world: those who are faithful to their husbands and those who are not. Until now, Poppy has never questioned which she was.
But when handsome, charming Matthew Gordon walks back into her life after almost two decades, that changes. Poppy makes a single mistake - and that mistake will be far more dangerous than she could imagine.
Someone is going to pay for it with their life....
Critic Reviews
"Absolutely brilliant...full of twists and turns that left me positively breathless." (Angela Marsons)
"A python of a book; it draws you in gently at first and then the coils of tension begin to tighten and refuse to let you go...." (Jane Shemilt)
"Readers you are in for a tremendous treat - a roller-coaster of a ride that will leave you screaming, 'No!' on more than one occasion." (Carol Wyer)

I Made a Mistake
Nearly sent it back because of the whining women, second guessing themselves constantly. But i stuck it out, & it did get better, somewhat.

RECOMMENDED!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a very 'easy listen' and easy to follow but still very interested and kept you guessing. One of my favourites from this author

Much longer than it needed to be
This was a struggle to get through, good story and likable characters but waaaaaaay too long for what it delivered.

Finished it but had to force myself to!
Didn’t really enjoy this. Clunky writing, unbelievable storyline & way too long! Would not recommend. (Narrator was ok though.)

Enjoyable, intriguing but ending drawn out a bit
An ordinary story about an ordinary family until some silly mistakes are made. Quite good but can't help thinking, would most people really get caught up in such a web of lies rather than fessing up but then that wouldn't make a good story

enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't predictable as many tales are. I loved the portrayal of how family secrets can unravel causing destruction to what otherwise seems to be a happy and loving family. At times I got quite frustrated that Poppy would not just come clean already but when you become that invested in a story. You know it's been a good one.

Not up to Jane's standards
I was a little disappointed in this book after reading Jane's other novels. I was going to shut it down after an hour as it was hard to distinguish between mum and Poppy at the beginning of the story, resulting in the story line being hard to follow .But that finally came into line.
The characters seems a little insipid.
Entertaining. But not Jane's usual quality.
