Publisher's Summary

A pulse-pounding suspense novel, where the line between the virtual world and reality gets blurred when it comes to murder. Complete and unabridged. Evie Wilson was the victim of the villain in DON'T TELL, an assault which resulted in paralysis on one side of her face.

After her injury, Evie retreated into the virtual realm, seeking refuge from the public eye by interacting with online friends. Now, with the help of a surgeon, Evie's face is restored and she is ready to return to the real world.

However, she remains connected to the internet for her graduate thesis on using the virtual world as therapy to improve self-esteem. She has become an online shopkeeper who sells faces and bodies to users interested in building a new avatar on a website called 'Another World" In her new role, Evie maintains 'surveillance' over her test subjects to ensure they don't become too caught up in the intoxicating virtual realm.

Meanwhile, homicide detective John Grace has been investigating a string of suspicious suicides that he believes are connected murders. John's investigation leads him to Evie when one of her online test subjects is found dead of apparent suicide, but Evie believes otherwise. Evie is shocked to find herself drawn to someone for the first time in over three years and she's reluctant to trust John. However, he's the only one who believes her story about the suspicious death of her test subject, and he soon discovers that many of the apparent suicides in his case had avatars in "Another World." As murder victims connected to the website begin to appear more frequently, John asks Evie to be his virtual guide in the investigation. However, they don't realise that the killer is closer than they think - and that he holds a special grudge against Evie.

Addicted to these books!!

I couldn’t put this down. Love all the characters and how Karen keeps previous characters in the story, even if they are not the main focus of the story. Really enjoyed this narration as previously been disappointed in the choice of narrators.

I Can See You... Captivated

What did you love best about I Can See You?

The story, the narration and how much it took you along on the journey. You really got caught up in the story. You invested in the characters and made your own assumptions about who was responsible.

What did you like best about this story?

It kept you enthralled. It took you on the journey with Eve (the protagonist). There was just the right amount about her personal life but not too much that you lost track of the case that she was involved in. Apart from her, there were also plenty of characters to hear about and root for/against.

What about Elisabeth S. Rogers’s performance did you like?

She read it aloud, like you would in your head. I really think that Elisabeth's performance made this story even better. She would change her voice slightly if speaking "for" another character to really make it seem 'real' and help you get caught up in the story. I couldn't fault Elisabeth's performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely.

Any additional comments?

I would actively seek out other audiobooks with Elisabeth S Rogers as narrator. She really makes the story 'come to life'.

Excellent as always

The fact that the story continues from book to book makes it easy to drop straight into the next one. You always know the main characters from a previous story. I'm really enjoying these books.

Dreadful

I thought this was a murder mystery thriller, but at least 66% was absolutely cringe worthy ‘romance’ - i tried to keep going, because the underlying mystery novel was good and I was interested to see how that panned out, but the long drawn out tedious ‘I’m damaged and can’t ever fall in love again/ooh they’re so gorgeous, could I dare open my heart’ and frankly embarrassing narrative made me stop before the end. Let me know who did it if you managed to get to the finale.
