Story
Kelsey has lived most of her life in a shadow of suspicion, raised to see danger everywhere. Her mother hasn't set foot outside their front door in 17 years, since she escaped from her kidnappers. Kelsey knows she's supposed to keep a low profile and stay off the grid for their protection, but that plan is shattered when her dramatic car accident and rescue by volunteer firefighter and classmate Ryan Baker sparks media coverage. A few days later, she arrives home to find her mother missing.

Story
After surviving an infamous family tragedy, 16-year-old Kennedy Jones has made it her mission to keep her brother's search through the cosmos alive. But then something disturbs the frequency on his radio telescope - a pattern registering where no signal should transmit. In a neighboring county, 17-year-old Nolan Chandler is determined to find out what really happened to his brother, who disappeared the day after Nolan had an eerie premonition. There hasn't been a single lead for two years, until Nolan picks up an odd signal - a pattern coming from his brother's bedroom.

Story
Eleven minutes passed before Delaney Maxwell was pulled from the icy waters of a Maine lake by her best friend, Decker Phillips. By then her heart had stopped beating. Her brain had stopped working. She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine - despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she's far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can't control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?

Story
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Fragments of the Lost by Megan Miranda, read by Erin Spencer. Jessa Whitworth knew she didn't belong in her ex-boyfriend Caleb's room. But she couldn't deny that she was everywhere - in his photos, his neatly folded T-shirts, even the butterfly necklace in his jeans pocket...the one she gave him for safekeeping on that day. His mother asked her to pack up his things - even though she blames Jessa for his accident. How could she say no?

Story
Nobody really believes in a curse. Until you know the people who disappear. Too much coincidence, you look for reason. Too much death, you grasp for something to blame. Carson pulled Delaney out and he died on the side of the road with her mouth pressed to his. Her air in his body. Troy. She told the cops it was suicide. Didn't matter. The lake released her and grabbed another. But when Decker's father dies in a pool of spilled water on their kitchen floor, all Decker can feel is a slow burning rage. Because he knows that Delaney knew that his dad was going to die.

Story
Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline; and a simple harbour community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors. Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that's just what happens with visitor Sadie Loman and Littleport resident Avery Greer. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead.

Good story. Narrator is kind of annoying
The story was good. Keeps you guessing. The narrator swallows allot and is nasally in some parts.

Character driven suspense
What did you love best about Hysteria?
The way the author dropped a few clues here and there along the way but still kept us in the dark about what happened right up to the end.
What about Holly Fielding’s performance did you like?
She did a good job throughout the book.
Any additional comments?
Megan Miranda has written a suspenseful story, focusing on the main character's inner journey. The secondary characters are three dimentional and interesting.

What the ...
I love mysteries. I love good twists. I love tricky clues and writing.. this was none of that. SPOILERS: (kinda) I still have no clue about Brian. It was so convoluted. So unorganized in the way this unfolded.. And what the what with Jason.. and why all that happened. I heard it, I get what they say happened.. it just wasn’t believable. Was the point to make the reader hysterical with annoyance? I usually like Megan Miranda, but lately it’s like every other book is good. Really disappointed with this one. Reader was good. Did the best with the oddity of this unorganized story.

Hard to follow - unorganized
I have ADD and I will admit that sometimes I have to rewind and listen again bc I've spaced out.
With Hysteria, I had a lot of moment in which I thought I had missed something. But I didn't, the story was just unorganized and missed some details to properly connect the book. I still cant figure out exactly what happened during some of those events.

very disappointed
I am usually a huge Megan Miranda fan, but this one is a huge disappointment. Slow, boring, and a conclusion that makes no sense.

Struggled!
I struggled through this entire audiobook. Not sure why I didn't just give up. I definitely did not love the story... and I don't feel like there was real closure on the Brian situation. Also, the Jason stuff wasn't exactly explained through the best so i feel like Swiss cheese with missing info all speckled through me. The narration would have been fine if I hadn't heard her swallow or speak with a dry mouth.

Good ideas but I didn't enjoy the execution
I found it hard to follow in audio format as it jumps in time. The story os very mysterious and spooky at times.

what a poor read
What would have made Hysteria better?
A decent story would have helped but I regret that this was not the case
What will your next listen be?
Vicious circle
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Holly Fielding?
nothing wrong with the narrator
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
None
