Publisher's Summary

How do you help your hypothalamus function more effectively?

If you have a basic idea of what the hypothalamus does, you probably know how important it is to keep it healthy and have it function in an optimal way.

The hypothalamus is there for the regulation of specific metabolic processes and other activities that relate to the autonomic nervous system. It synthesizes and secretes neurohormones, called releasing hormones or hypothalamic hormones, and these in turn stimulate or inhibit the secretion of pituitary hormones.

Not only will this book touch on the most important aspects of that small part in our brain called the hypothalamus, but it will also provide solutions to health, injuries, and other problems connected to the hypothalamus. The book covers topics such as:

  • Its role in motivation, decision-making, and behavioral patterns.
  • The connection between the hypothalamus and weight loss.
  • What to do with the hypothalamus and pituitary gland after a head injury.
  • Sleep patterns and fevers that get regulated partially by that essential part in your brains.
  • Hypothalamus disorders - what you should know about them.
  • How to get your brain in top shape and have it perform better.

In the art of brain science, and for the sake of understanding our own selves better, it is crucial to learn about the hypothalamus and what it does. On top of that, how to stimulate that part of our cerebrum for optimal brain activity and healthy functioning can make a major difference in your life.

Another great book by Quinn Spencer

This man is on a roll here. He's written so many books about the brain. I'll try to find a way to get all of them. I wish there was a kindle version of them too.

Excellent

This guide has shown me the insides of the human brain. What I liked about the book is that it explains everything so well and so deeply within only about 1.5 hours of listening time. The narrator didn't annoy me by any means, and the authors must have done quite some research to put this together.

All in all, a great book to listen to in the car, the gym, or just for your university studies on the human brain. The hypothalamus is an important region we should all learn more about.

Awesome

I really enjoyed this book. The hypothalamus is such an important part of our brain, and yet, so many people know so little about it. This book sheds more light on an essential element of the way we think.

Very good

I managed to comprehend everything clearly, not only because the storyteller spoke the terms well, but also because the info in it consisted of new facts to be learned.

unfortunate short coming

the reader mis-pronounces many of the medical terms. One always needs to decipher to follow.

Less informative than two minutes on Wikipedia.

Literally just a guy saying over and over and over again that the hypothalamus can make you over eat and so try to eat less. Reading this review will save you the time of listening to this, because this is the only point the guy makes.
