Publisher's Summary

AI is radically transforming business. Are you ready?

Look around you. Artificial intelligence is no longer just a futuristic notion. It's here right now - in software that senses what we need, supply chains that "think" in real time, and robots that respond to changes in their environment. Twenty-first-century pioneer companies are already using AI to innovate and grow fast. The bottom line is this: Businesses that understand how to harness AI can surge ahead. Those that neglect it will fall behind. Which side are you on?

In Human + Machine, Accenture leaders Paul R. Daugherty and H. James (Jim) Wilson show that the essence of the AI paradigm shift is the transformation of all business processes within an organization - whether related to breakthrough innovation, everyday customer service, or personal productivity habits. As humans and smart machines collaborate ever more closely, work processes become more fluid and adaptive, enabling companies to change them on the fly - or to completely reimagine them. AI is changing all the rules of how companies operate.

Based on the authors' experience and research with 1,500 organizations, the book reveals how companies are using the new rules of AI to leap ahead on innovation and profitability as well as what you can do to achieve similar results. It describes six entirely new types of hybrid human + machine roles that every company must develop, and it includes a "leader's guide" with the five crucial principles required to become an AI-fueled business.

Human + Machine provides the missing and much-needed management playbook for success in our new age of AI.

Master of obvious

This book is very repetitive and mostly states the obvious. I would not recommend the book.

An airplane book

It’s an airplane book for middle managers. It’s not bad. Very simplistic. Whole book is a hidden ad for Accenture consulting.

Good intro. Little substance.

This book is a good intro for a non technical person, to understand general AI concepts, and how they may impact business. As for substance and concrete, actionable information - there is very little.

A golf course book

Good for talking about AI on the golf course. But not a lot of meat for “doing AI”

Authors are clearly very in love with their own intelligence

I thought this audiobook was not that informative. It is clearly written with the intention of the authors to create authority on the ai subject within the consultancy business.

I believe this book was very limited if it comes to explaining what ai is and what the pro’s and cons of this new technology are.

Great intro in AI and it's applications

Great book I found on the use of AI, it's application but most importantly how it helps people rather than hinder them in the right way. Listening to this book have me great ideas to automate mundane tasks people do in call centres and back offices each day. Its certainly boosted my enthusiasm for getting in the field of AI.

Like a very long movie traiker

No offence to the author or the voice - he is just a victim of movie trailer style. The fault lies on the producer who chose such an inapropriate type of performance that didn’t really allow to listen to that very tiny amount of new and insightful content that this books had. It’s pretty kuch enough to listen to the summary in the last chapter
