I loved this book.

I loved this book. I have become a procrastinator and I just couldn’t get myself back to the organized person I used to be. I read several books on how to stop procrastinating but they didn’t grab my attention and I didn’t do anything to stop the problem. I decided to read this book after it showed up on one of my electronic book sites and it had a very good rating. It is awesome and makes sense to me. It is down to earth and written in an easy to understand way and very easy to implement in my life without a big change to make abruptly in my everyday life. I highly recommend it!

The author does a great job

The author does a great job of balancing the explanation of theories and then describing what to do on a day to day basis to apply the theories to your life and jump over the emotional and mental hurdles that are blocking your physical ability to get things done.

Great and practical

Great and practical read for anyone who wants to get things done but struggle with staying focused and disciplined. My favorite parts of the book were the three-row spreadsheet which explains everything from avoiding activity, explanation to an actual plan, and also how the author explains that we should always focus only on one task and not a million of them.

I am great at procrastinating. This book has lots of tips that are helpful. I have already changed some of my behaviors and my stress level has decreased. I look back at the end of the day to see what I have accomplished. I have stopped beating myself up over what I did not get done. GREAT BOOK!!!

Good techniques

I learned new techniques that I am already utilizing. Emotion surfing, and ignoring the monkey in my brain who only wants what it wants NOW, are 2 ideas that are described so well, and so simply, that I can see them having a huge impact on my life. Just picturing the monkey clanging cymbals in my mind takes a lot of the power away from my avoidance tendencies. Great book!

Great book and great advice.

When I started reading this book, right away I realized that Nils gets it. His description of the struggle that a chronic procrastinator goes through on a daily basis is spot on. The more I read the more I realized there is another way out of procrastination. I was really surprised that I was using his advice actively while reading his book, and I was able to read it all in one sitting, something that I have never done before with a book. Great book and great advice.

Solid Book

I've been a serial procrastinator for much of my life. There are times when I simply cannot push myself to do what I know needs doing. I was sent to time management classes, planner retreats, and given all the productivity tools I could ever dream of during my last round of employment, and they all worked - for about 20 minutes. Because procrastination is not time management or productivity problem.

You should get it

If you're a true procrastinator, you might not want to read this book. The problem is that you might actually, secretly like being a procrastinator. It's hard to admit, it's admitting a weakness or an addiction. It's a hard habit to kick.

Excellent information

Succinct. Manageable chunks of excellent information to contemplate and test out. I really like the framework - provide the compelling science, then how it personally helped the author, then how you can implement it in your own life. The process of the book is what makes this one of the best books on procrastination I’ve read. Oh - and it’s short! So you can feel good completing it!

Incedible Book

I've been struggling with procrastination for years. I've made strides, but inevitably I still struggle with it. The greater my strides are, the more steps I seem to take backward. I liked this book because it really spoke to me. The author, I felt, truly identified what the problem was--and I feel more confident his solutions will work. Not overnight, but I think over time, yes.

Very well presented.

Very VERY well presented. The book doesn’t get bogged down in redundant or unnecessary hyperbole, keeping the book brief and to the point yet doesn’t miss any of the working points. To anyone contemplating this read I would say; don’t think “simple,” or “short,” means the book might not adequately cover the material.
