Life changing
I loved this book so much and I plan too listen again.
KC has a way of helping you see that being clean and tidy is a huge grey area and that you need to do what works for you. She gives lots of ideas that are helpful but doesn’t make you feel like it’s the only way to do things.
There is no wrong or right way to do things. You are not bad for not having the cleanest tidiest house and that your home is there for you not the other way around.
I like to have a tidy home it makes me feel less stressed when things are in order and the past few weeks things have been a little overwhelming. The tools in this book helped me get myself together and to the things that were going to make future me feel better.
Honestly I love this book so much. Also the chapters are nice and short so you don’t feel like you have to much to take in and there is a summary at the end of each chapter which is amazing for someone who has ADHD like me.
I LOVE THIS BOOK

Hi! I know you probably get hundreds of these, but I just finished reading (listening) to your book and omg? Omg???? Some of the stuff you say is revolutionary. I went out and bought that extra dish rack. My sink is now clear. Are the dishes still dirty. Yes. Am I way calmer about it. YES. Like I’ve heard you talk about it on TikTok but I’ve always been an all or nothing person (yay adhd) and adding an extra step just didn’t make sense but omg?? I cleared the dishwasher this morning. I’ll put the dishes in it tomorrow morning. The dishes will get washed only once a week. I stopped folding laundry a while ago because of you too 😅😅 I am now also attempting the gym because my body needs to be functional for me. I can’t wait to bombard everyone I know with this 😂😂 thank you so much!

A prpundly kind, pragmatic, and trauma-informed approach to cleaning
This is an excellent book. There is a reason why it's a classic in the neuro divergent community.
There are lots of practical tips, but the strength of the book lies in its general philosophy of reframing house, work as care, removing shame, and focusing on functionality.
I personally think caring for the environment, is a really important form of self care. I think the book is very dismissive of the environment and while I understand the pragmatic argument, personally i think it's incomplete and underdeveloped. For example, I feel like my mental health is much better when I include rituals that help me to minimise my impact on the planet, or have a positive impact .
I honestly feel like she just doesn't really get it yet.
Overall, I still think it's excellent
