The wall. Sooner or later we all hit it. The wall can be anything. It could be your lack of motivation, it could be your fear of leaving your comfort zone, it could be the aimlessness that comes from not having set yourself the right goals, it could be that you spend too much time with people who undermine you. What all these things have in common is that they’re holding you back. They’re the things that are stopping you from reaching your true potential, from getting the most you can out of your life.

Story
One of the biggest myths that plagues the business world today is that our ability to network depends on having the “gift-of-gab”. You don’t have to be outgoing to be successful at networking. You don’t have to become a relentless self-promoter. In fact, you don’t have to act like an extrovert at all. Matthew Pollard, an introvert himself, draws on over a decade of research and real-world examples to provide an actionable blueprint for introverted networking.

Publisher's Summary

How to Change is a powerful, groundbreaking blueprint to help you - and anyone you manage, teach or coach - to achieve personal and professional goals, from the master of human nature and behaviour change and Choiceology podcast host Professor Katy Milkman.
Award-winning Wharton professor Katy Milkman has devoted her career to the study of behaviour change. An engineer by training, she approaches all challenges as problems to be solved and, with this mindset, has drilled into the roadblocks that prevent us from achieving our goals and breaking unwanted behaviours. The key to lasting change, she argues, is not to set ever more audacious goals or to foster good habits but to get your strategy right.
In How to Change, Milkman identifies seven human impulses, or 'problems', that commonly sabotage our attempts to make positive personal and professional change. Then, crucially, instead of getting you to do battle with these impulses, she shows you how to harness them and use these as driving forces to help instil new, positive behaviours - better, faster and more efficiently than you could imagine.
Drawing her own original research, countless engaging case studies and practical tools throughout to help you put her ideas into action, Milkman reveals a proven, inspiring path that can take you - once and for all - from where you are today to where you want to be.

Better than most of the genre
Milkman walks several tightropes with ease, providing advice that's neither too general nor too specific, and backing up her findings with science while still leaving plenty of room for interesting human anecdotes. There might be a bit too much focus on gym attendance, and the book doesn't cover the other side of the coin - how even as you're trying to change, bad actors use the same insights from behavioural economics to change YOU. But it's still an engaging and insightful read.

technical study data being read out
I thought it would give me steps or theory on how to change and keep change. however it just seamed more like a review of every behavioural study ever done. does not give advice or tell you how to change.
