Parrish Partridge’s true facts: There’s nothing hotter than a tall, gruff, bewildered, tattooed mountain of a man cuddling a sweet, orphaned baby, so you can tell yourself that you’ll resist him...But that’s a lie. And when that man asks you to do him a favor and pretend to be his very temporary, very fake fiance to help him get custody of that adorable baby, you can pretend you know better than to say yes...But that’s a lie, too.

Holy unicorns, this was so much fun! 🦄
Having recently moved to the small fairytale town of Cedar Falls, CT, where no one bats an eyelid about being gay, Tom is working and thriving in a mom and pop store. Then Wren returns home to help out with the family business, and he and Tom find it hard to work together. When Wren and Tom both enter the annual bake off competition, the flour really hits the fan. This is the second Cedar Falls book and I enjoyed it even more than the first. The main characters were charming. Tom is a bubbly, irrepressibly fun character and the author has given him lots of fun lines, quotes, and exclamations 🦄 Closeted Wren plays the straight guy - literally and comedically - to Tom’s gay pride parade. Lots of fun. 🎧 I would love to meet Nick Hudson. He always suffuses his characters with so much joie de vivre, humour, and good will, it would be wonderful just to spend time with him. His seamless delivery, pacing, and comedic timing are perfect for these books.

delightful
Would I listen to it again: yes Did the story keep me engaged: yes Was I invested in the characters: yes Story comment: Delightfully entertaining story with good pace and likeable characters. Tom is such a quirky and fun character and Wren finds the courage to be true to himself. This is a low drama, feel good story with some good humor that just left me smiling. A perfect listen for a lazy weekend. 😊 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Nick Hudson's narration and think he's done a great job narrating How to Catch a Rival. I had no problem distinguishing characters and the rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life.

Feel good story to listen to all afternoon!
Feel good story that you can listen to all afternoon! I enjoyed the narration and the story had a nice easy pacing. Fun listen. Tom and Wren are such a cute couple. They both really want the same thing, to be loved and accepted for themselves. Together they find that they both have really good reasons for each of them to win the competition. I liked that there was very little angst and that they really talked with each other and resolved their misunderstandings. This is the second book of Chester Falls series and it can be read as a stand-alone. You will see previous characters as friends of our current MC's and we do meet the MC's of the next book. I am excited to keep listening and see how James and Connor do in the next story.

Sweet, low angst with heat between opposites
This is a very sweet story between opposites. There is low angst and lots of feel-good moments. Tom is all kinds of sunshine and provides comical moments out loud .... and in his head. The POV is dual between Tom and Wren and the narrator does such an excellent job that when the POV first changed, I double-checked to see that it was single narration as I had thought; because the voice change was enough that I wasn't sure. This is my first book by both the author, and the narrator, and I enjoyed it a lot. I would recommend How To Catch a Rival if you are looking for something funny and sweet, with some heat and heart-melting moments in a bake-off contest setting. And listening in the audio form could even make it more enjoyable because the narrator nails the voices.

Fun Listen
This is a sweet and fun continuation of the series, there are some plot points that don't make much sense or add to the story in my opinion but it's a small point otherwise it's a nice romance, with fun characters, good banter and a great narrator.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me. The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review. PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!! To my ratings: 5* - very very good it's like an A+ 4* - very good and will be often re-listening it's like an A 3* - it's more then a one-time-listening. it's like a B

Sweet and entertaining
I enjoyed this sweet, entertaining, pretty low-angst listen. Tom is loud and colorful, while Wren is more quiet and reserved, but boy are they hot together. Their are a few twists and turns, including one surprise villain at the end that didn't really seem necessary or to really add anything to the story, but that's a minor quibble. The main and secondary characters are all great and very relatable. This is the second book in the series, and while it could be stand alone, you will get a better knowledge of who some of the supporting characters are if you have already read or listened to the first book. The narration is excellent. Nick Hudson does a fantastic job separating the characters and giving them all distinct voices. He really brings Tom to life! I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I loved every bit of this one, the characters were fun and interesting! You fall in love with them listening to this story. The connection between these two is palpable, you can't get enough. I listened to it in one go, not putting it down for a break. Nathan Hudson is a new to me voice actor and I absolutely enjoy his way of narrating. He brought a special something to everything he read, and especially the spicier and heated moments. I never felt like I didn't know who was talking or missed anything. I loved Tom and Wren! Oh my goodness Tom is a bubble of sunshine and fabulousness. I loved meeting him in How to Catch a Prince and loved his own HEA! Wren was so caring and sweet right from the start and I'm so glad there wasn't any silly back and forth and miscommunication. These two are perfect together and I look forward to seeing them cameo in more stories from Chester Falls! Nick has done a fantastic job narrating this one and his various dialects and accents between characters are flawless! I look forward to hearing more if Nick too!!!!

WOW!
After the wonderful book 1, this second book followed another couple of Chester Falls finding love. The story of Wren and Tom is funny and interesting. I enjoyed a lot the banter between the main characters in the middle of all the romance and hot scenes. Also, seeing characters from book 1 appear in this one created the ambience in the world of Chester Falls. The cherry on top is the amazing performance of Mr Hudson who made this story even more enjoyable. Loved It!

Even better than book 1
Loved this audio book. Tom is Charlie's (book 1) best friend. And he's Fabulous. Wren is closeted (in Chester Falls) but the attraction between him and Tom is instantaneous. Combined with the baking show aspect of the story and a great narrator I found this an easy and (mostly) stress free listen.

I loved it. This series it amazing and I've loved them all. Tom and Wren are fantastic together I love reading characters who are confident been who they are. I listened to book 3 before I listened to this book and I was intrigued about Tom and Wrens story. Tom is sassy and adorable and Wren is guarded, he is not out to his family and he's just had to give up his career as a football player. The rivalry between them made for an enjoyable read. I can't wait to see what more this series offers.

Back in Chester Falls
I enjoyed book 1 in the Chester Falls series, How to Catch a Royal, and was thrilled when I was able to pick up this book. These books are simple and pure romance and I’m a huge fan of those types of stories. I devoured this one in a day. Characters are always so important in this type of book and I wasn’t disappointed. Tom was absolutely adorable. He’s a sparkling shining star who adores his idol Coco Chanel. He is a glass half-full kind of guy who loves his job at a family-owned department store but aspires to have his own clothing store. The way to get it? Win the bake-off for Pride Month in Chester Falls and get enough money to open the store. Wren is also sweet. He’s in the closet when it comes to his family and only comes home when his father falls ill. Dedicated to his family, he helps out in the store and soon discovers the finances aren’t great. To provide a cushion for his family, he needs to win the bake-off. Okay, so you can see where this is going. Both men have really good reasons for wanting to win and there was no way I could choose who I wanted to bring home the prize. Maybe they can split it? There is a solution that leaves everyone happy and that just made the book all the better. Nick Hudson does a great job of narrating these books – his voice just suits the easy-going nature of Chester Falls and he differentiates the voices well. He brought that extra sparkle to Tom that made me love him even more. Off to the next book!

Heart warming
Lovely small town romance that would make a perfect Hallmark movie. I adored Tom, our and proud leaving glitter trails wherever he went. Wren is closeted to him family so was definitely a more guarded character. The push and pull between these two was electric.
