Alivia once led a house full of immortal vampires, but now everything has been stripped away. Her friends have turned their backs on her, convinced she betrayed them and their Born kind. Taken prisoner to the King's Court, she awaits her trial. But the sins of her father threaten to blacken her chances of clearing her name.
Alivia toyed with King Cyrus' heart - and now, he's going to make her pay. Perhaps with her life.
Hidden in the belly of the castle, truths will come to light, and the surface of the King's brutality and the horrors of the castle have barely been scratched.

**Review for complete series **
I believe this is my first from Ms. Taylor and I was hesitant but the premise sounded promising and I was quickly running out of new book/authors read. I am surprised to say that I was actually quite blown away. Here's why:
*great world building and character development.
*a relatable & like-able heroine and lovable and equally hate-able cast.
* All books were available on audio! Huge plus!! ( Only the 3rd, I believe, had a HORRIBLE narrator, thankfully the rest were good)
*story kept me engaged from start to finish!!
It was quite not put- downable.
*can't wait to sink myself into more tales from this author!
My only negative, which isn't really a negative for many, is that although there is romance, it is VERY CLEAN. As in, no SEX.
There are some adult situations and settings but nothing graphic by any means. I wish this had been labeled as young adult to give me a heads up, but this is one I actually am not mad about it not being as adult as I usually like them. I was engaged and did not really miss the adult content but would've liked it more I think, if it had lol.
This is probably the darkest book in the series as Oliva suffers the Kings punishment and imprisonment. The king breaks her, but she goes back to her roots to rediscover herself and finds more than she anticipated. Can't wait to see what surprises lie ahead.
