Publisher's Summary

When dreams turn to nightmares. It was just an old bed, bought for the spare room. Except that a hundred years earlier a witch called Rose slept in it. Now Rose's unhappy spirit comes as part of the deal. An angry ghost comes with the bed. That's not what you'd call a bargain.

Angela and Nathan are a young couple, married only two years before.

Rose's spirit despises happy couples.

Sleeping in the bed promises erotic dreams with perfect lovers. A woman more passionate and daring than your wife, a man more considerate and satisfying than your husband. Before long, the dreams are much better than any reality.

Three's a crowd in any relationship, especially when one of those three is already dead.

Don't buy Antiques

Watching a lot of horror tv shows I learned not to buy certain types of houses, cars, chest of drawers, wine boxes, and now beds. What would happen to a relationship when a couple buys a new bed that is haunted by both an incubus and succubus? Nothing good.
G.M. Hague brings us another great short story in his collection. This paranormal thriller has a nice warning in the beginning about being a little bit more sexually explicit than his other novels. I've read plenty of stories were they went into a lot of explicit scenes to function as a crutch for a failing story. This isn't the case at all with this story and my response to G.M. Hague is, about time.
As always it is a true pleasure to hear G.M. Hague narrate his own book. Make sure you check out his music as well. Looking forward to the next book.

Best in Series So Far!

I am loving this horror series by G. M. Hague and this one was by far my favorite. I've enjoyed stories about a haunted object in the past, but none quite like this one. A young couple purchases an antique bed for their spare room, but quickly learn that the bed has a mind of it's own (and a sexual prowess of it's own, too). We are treated to a series of events seemingly perpetrated by the bed itself and spooky sexual affairs begin to take place between the characters in this tale, the bed included! I won't say more for fear of spoilers but I would recommend this story (and any of the horror stories by G. M. Hague) to anyone who enjoys fun horror. I find his brand of horror to be incredibly satisfying!

Clever!

I was impressed that the author also narrated the story and enjoyed his aussie accent and the sound effects he put in. Angla and Nathan are an ordinary young married couple until she buys an antique bed. Their lives do a 180.

The story is short but filled with plot twists, suspense and a bit of sex. I can't say much about the story line but it's very clever how the author tied everything together. I enjoyed wondering what was going to happen next.

A very enjoyable story!

I received this book for an honest review.

The best kind of spooky ghost fiction

G.M. Hague is very good at writing spooky ghost type fiction, and this story is no exception. I have also heard his Hangman's Ghost, and I think I like this one even better. The mood of the story is very ghostly and creepy, and it paints a very good mental picture. The characters are interesting and distinct, but this Mr. Hague's work is very much about the story more than the characters. The strange things happening are things the reader feels might possibly happen to them, if the timing is just right, they are alone, and it is dark enough . . .

I really like these stories and hope there will be more of them.

A haunting and unique, entertaining listen!

Horror Story: Volume VI: Bedtime Story by G.M. Hague is just a fun ghost story. It's a unique spin on your typical haunted antiquity tale. The premise reminded me a bit of the old Friday the 13th television series where each episode revolves around a different haunted antique that they have to get back before it destroys whomever is in possession of it. Well, in Bedtime Story, that antique is an old bed that a witch named Rose once slept in. The author mentions that though his books don't typically involve a lot of sex, it was necessary for this tale, and it really was. The sex scenes are not super graphic, but the story wouldn't work without them. Other than that, I don't want to give away any spoilers, as the story is a bit on the shorter side, coming in at just under 2.5 hours. I'm definitely looking forward to listening to more of Mr. Hague's work!

G.M. Hague did a very good job narrating this story. He did well with both the male and female voices and I really appreciated his authors note at the beginning of the story letting the listener know that there may be a bird sound or two and explaining his situation, which I found charming. Most of the time authors make terrible narrators. This isn't the case with Mr. Hague! I loved this ghost story

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book was great.. with a few ghosts, a haunted bed and some sex.. what more could you ask for.

When Angela and Nathan purchase an antique bed, strange things and ghostly visits start for both.

I really enjoyed this story and the ending, a somewhat unpredictable.

It's the 2nd book of G.M Hague that I've listened to in the Horror Story series and have enjoyed them both.

An Unexpected Ending to A Great Story

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
Another well written and inventive story by an author that never disappoints. "Bedtime Story" of the "Horror Story" series, is very creative and the unexpected ending makes it more so. The Australian author and narrator does an excellent job in conveying to the readers the nuances of his narrative. Well done! As far as I'm concerned the Australian accent adds charm to the narration. Reference to the sexual content, might be a little eccessive as it is used only in relation to the storyline and not for sensationalism. Worth your reading time if you like the supernatural and the unexpected.
