Here’s an excerpt from the audiobook:

We thought that the real estate agency had left it there for us, or maybe that someone just forgot it there. However, it wasn’t from the agency. That’s when it started. Atrocious letters continued to come almost every day. My husband thought that they were coming from some kids pulling a prank.

The letters came from someone who called himself “The Watcher”. He stated in his letters that he was called that because that was what he did, what he was meant to do! The letters contained for quite some time with terrifying death threats directed at the family.

He knew personal details about the family, who they were, where they came from, and what they did. In his letters, he would say horrifying things like: “Have they found out what’s in the walls yet?” and “I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought me.”
