Story
The dreams start, and Bethi's very normal life goes down the toilet. She soon realizes the dreams are actually memories from past lives...and not just hers. She sees the lives of other women like her. The recalled memories follow the same terrifying pattern: Dog-men chase her, and she sees her eventual tormented death. Learning from the past, Bethi sets out to find a way to live this time around. The dreams hint at an answer. She needs to be strong enough to find it or die...again.

Story
Unfortunately, not all people from magical bloodlines have powers, and at 22, I’m several years past the age they usually appear. So I’ve resigned myself to a boring, magic-less life. Then something strange happens. I get stuck in the middle of a bar fight, and instead of just punching the guy back, I blow a hole in the wall. So...I guess I do have powers. But they’re unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This shit is definitely not normal. And it seems the magical authorities agree. I can go to school, learn to control my magic. Or they’ll take it away. Permanently.

Story
I left home because I didn't want to end up in a cage like a lab rat. Hitching rides, begging for cash, and sleeping on the ground got old fast. That was the only reason I braved an overgrown path to a group of buildings. I'd hoped to find a bed and a decent night's sleep. However, what I found was a place overrun by werewolves.

Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world. Firstly...supernaturals exist. WTF? Secondly...she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind. Double WTF. Thirdly...she’s about to go back to school. Well, things just got a little more interesting. The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.

The Eternal Cliffhanger
Ok. Great story. Amazing characters--most of the time. Big, exciting finish and then? Nothing! The next book in the series picks up with completely different characters. WTH?? I won't be listening to the sequels anytime soon. I think this kind if ending is completely irresponsible on the part of the author. If you want readers to be invested in characters, you can't just yank them away and start over with new people. Other authors have successfully added new characters without tossing out the old--think Jaymin Eve's "First World" series--so I truly don't understand the decision to go this route. Not a happy camper.

Run! Don't walk, away from this book.
Confusing plot, weak heroine. Premise seemed to have potential, but never satisfying at any point. Made no sense. Bismal ending. The next sequel does not take off at the ending of this book, which it promised it would.

It was just “ok”
Was expecting a good wolf/human story. Turned into a boring , make it end, book. Main character,Gabby, was a one dimensional no real personality. Nothing to connect the reader to it. The hero, Clay, was okay but no Strong male lead here, more an omega. Really disappointed in this read. Expected so much more with the description, book underperformed.

Took too long to get to the point.
Any additional comments?
This was a painfully long book to listen to. The story just went on and on with no real plot until the last third of the book. You got your typical werewolf mate bond/heroine in denial story except werewolf stays mostly in wolf form and never speaks to her. She spends the whole book trying to interpret what he is thinking. I get the whole actions speak louder than words but without anything else going on in the story it got old real fast. By the end I just didn't care anymore. This series is not for me. Would have been better if there had been more about the plot and less about the werewolf/heroine interaction.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book and their story. I regret not having a chance to read it sooner. The story is absolutely amazing, I never expected the turns and twists in it. I loved being surprised by the characters and their actions. And the story is so original, I have never read anything like that before.
Over all I have to say, Wow just wow. Brilliant writing. I really enjoy the way Melissa writes, and OMG what is she doing to me??? That ending just left me desperate for more! I can't wait to read the next of the series.

Fantastic version
Would you listen to Hope(less) again? Why?
I would definitely listen to it again. I love the story and the characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clay is my favorite character. I love how protective he is of Gabby all while giving her the space she needs.
Which scene was your favorite?
Vet
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed until I cried at some of the snarky dialogue. There were times I was angry with Gabby because of the way she treated Clay.
Any additional comments?
One of my favorite books of all time.

Incomplete!
Good ideas, fun characters but there no complete story. Last 1/3 of book the main characters whines about her head hurting, same lines over and over then incessantly asks pedantic questions that aren't answered but oh try the next book. or the next 3 books? so frustrating! Unfortunately theres an Epidemic of writers that use series or so called cliffhangers to give you an unfinished book.
