I look her body up and down as I circle her.

Mine?

I smile a devious, deviant, I'm-gonna-make-you-sorry-you-ever-started-playing-this-game-with-me smile.

And then I take her hand.

I lead her to the elevator.

We go up to my apartment.

I tie her wrists together with rope.

Raise her arms above her head.

And chain her to the ceiling.

It's my turn.

Not a fan on this one

I don't know.. I couldn't get behind Nadia in this. she fought Brick every step of the way. how did they expect everything to work out when they were constantly fighting? i found myself irritated at times. When it all came together at the end I felt like it was rushed and they still were terrible for each other. not my cup of tea I guess. o.. and a serious lack of sex in this book. i mean, it was there but not like in the first book. if u like the taking turns series, you don't NEED to listen to this one.

YES! YES! YES!! Twisted, Creative, Unique, Exciting!!!

So excited I finally got Brick's story and he got his turn. The back and forth with Nadia and Brick was insane. They are both control freaks and thrive on power so to see these two going head to head was heart pounding!!! Neither wanted to submit. Neither wanted to stop playing the game. I seriously had doubts through the entire book how JA Huss was going to give Brick his happily ever ever but she did. She literally had to break him for him to see the truth right in front of him. I do have to say, Brick is the master manipulator and had me giddy with excitement at his mind games!! The man can seriously play with your head and your heart. He's intense to the highest degree and I craved it!! You will absolutely love Brick and Nadia's story!!! This entire series was one of my all time favorite reads EVER!!! The audio is FANTASTIC!!! The narrators did an AMAZING job becoming the characters. You could feel their performance whole heartedly. Highly Highly Recommend this book and this entire series!! So excited to hear from JA Huss that there's more coming!!!! YES YES YES!!!! JA Huss had me eating out of the palm of her hand with this creative, one-of-a-kind, unlike anything you've ever read before, work of art!!! I absolutely LOVED it!!!!! So sad it's over for these characters!! Truly Amazing Series!!!

I enjoyed the idea of the characters and the book more than the actual trilogy. I’m not sure if it was the lack of character development as it relates to the breakdown of the story or the needless talking points at times, maybe it’s best described as irrelevant. Would I buy them again or listen again probably not. The highlight is I LOVE Sebastian York....big win because I bought all three books based on the narration.

A bit disappointed

This was a long book and it took forever to arrive at the end. I read before reading but thought the person was being picky and now I have to agree: Brick and Nadia's bickering is boring and annoying.

So Worth the Wait for the Audiobook!

I started the Turning Series (Taking Turns and Turning Back) over the past summer and was blown away by the story and the 10 Star narration on both these books. Yet, waiting for the audio release of "His Turn" felt slow and painful. I thought it would never be released and almost decided to read it, but I'm so glad I waited for the audio version.

As with any of JA Huss books, she is going to give her audience a major mind-F.....K type of story and His Turn is no different. "His Turn" is the story of Elias (Bric) Brickman's, the master manipulator, who meets his biggest challenge that makes him start to question all he knows and all he is. Don't expect an easy HEA, but remember, "Nothing Good is Ever Easy!"
Since Elias (Bric) Brickman was my favorite out of the three original players, I was so glad that JA Huss gave him someone that he would never think he needed or wanted. Jordan (new player) also adds great mystery and initially, JA Huss makes you believe that Jordan is just a simple guy wanting into the game for some hot sex. If you believe this, then you have not truly experienced the depth of characters that JA Huss creates in order to manipulate your mind.

As you are listening to this book, you will be holding your breath at every turn this book takes. Even when the story ends, it generally takes me a couple of days to stop thinking about the story. This is the brilliance of the Turning Series and most other books by JA Huss. The narration should be award-winning and Sabastian York is the ultimate Elias (Bric) Brickman. Kate Russell is excellent at this portraying little Nadia who drops Bric to his knees every chance she gets. Nadia is no little waif-like ballerina and she is the ultimate female player in all the games. 5 Star performance. New Players, New Game and the Winner takes all. But remember...... sometimes winning isn't everything.

Please Note: Even though the other two books just eluded to the fact that the players "MAY" have some bi-sexual tendencies. "His Turn" definitely opens the door to Bric's bi-sexual personality. There are scenes with men on men in this book, which might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Kind of a let-down

I want to start by noting I generally LOVE JA Huss' work. She is so creative, and I admire her talent. That said... I have some real issues with this installment of the series. Brick is the last of the three, the least likely to let a woman in, so I had VERY high expectations for his chosen counterpart. Nadia did not live up to the hype. I started off really wanting to like her. I knew Brick would need someone strong enough and mature enough to take him on. Someone with the patience of a saint. As the story developed, I liked Nadia less and less, and ultimately kind of hated her. Nothing about her fit. As well, the dynamic between the three of them (Brick, Nadia & Jordan) is always off, so no connection can be forged. The reveals at the end were convoluted and didn't really jive with the actions/inner monologues of the characters (namely Nadia and Jordan). There was nothing to satisfy me about this ending. Poor Brick deserved better. The dirty scenes were hot, but that's all they were. They were not a vehicle to move the story forward at all (as they were in the first 2 books).

Not really a romance and not all that sexy

Some spoilers coming, so just read this recap of you don't want too much detail: This story wraps up the trilogy that starts with Taking Turns, but do yourself a favor and stop on Quin's book (Turning Back). His Turn has little actual romantic content, the characters hate one another for nearly there whole book, the sex is flat, and the story's attitude in polyamory is damaging. Full review: After finishing the first two books in the series (devouring them, really), I had really high hopes for Bric's story. I liked his narrator, and I was intrigued by his character. But, if it doesn't come across in the first two books (and really, it does), Bric is an alphahole of the highest order, and unlike other more likable and memorable heroes of the archetype, Bric is not really redeemable. Not even in the end. It takes him psychologically breaking the heroine before any semblance of a romance starts, and that's in the final 5% of the book. She is also sort of a cruel person, but she at least shows some humanity. I might have been okay with their extremely antagonistic relationship if there was any semblance of romance in there, but there isn't. These two hate one another from start to finish, and then suddenly he does something awful to her, she nearly kills herself, and boom they're a couple. I don't buy it. There was no romantic build-up. They don't complement one another. They're both dominant and he spent the entire time trying to force her into submission when it's clearly not what she wanted. They also made several references to women who are submissive as "weak" and "pathetic" (seriously, WTF--no mentally sound dominant should feel that way, and it's hurtful to submissives!). Even in the end, there's no mention of how they will handle that going forward. Is there even any possibility that he will lighten up or submit to her? I would have loved to have seen him truly humbled (voluntarily) rather than just saddened and guilty. But even overlooking all of that, I really REALLY REALLY disliked the attitude this book in particular (and to some extent, the series) treats polyamory. Even though every book in the series features a romance between 3 or 4 people, they're all convinced that a successful relationship can only be between two. Chella straight out says this to Bric. And Bric echoes it on his complete shame and shunning of his family background. They're poly and it's "wrong" (his words) to have more than one mother. I... just... no. This story is not for me. I listened to the whole thing, even the EoBS, and the narration was excellent, but it's not a romance. it's a story of mutual manipulation with some meh explicit sex scenes and, eventually, finally paying the price and starting to grow up. The romance is an afterthought, and the flat sex scenes reflect that (the hottest scenes are the ones with Jordan, who is clearly never intended to end up with them). Hard pass.

*sigh*

What the hell did I just waste a credit on? I was okay with the first book, great with the second but this one, with the most intriguing character in the series? Nope. Just no. It was silly and confusing with a disappointing h and a bad ending for the series. I hate it had to be a bad review for this.

HOT, HOT, HOT

His Turn, the third installment of The Turning Series, reveal so much information about the characters. It gives you a great understanding of that particular world. The story of Bric and Nadia has made everything complete. JA Huss has once again made a greatly, twisted story.

???

I fell in love with book two, but I have very mixed feelings about this book. It started off ok, the middle lost me, and the end was just so... I don’t even know. I’m all about a happy ending, but come on. Those two were not meant to be together. Hell, Smith and Chella had their issues, but I could see how they clicked. But, I just don’t get it. I don’t understand Jordan’s real purpose. I like books when they’re not predictable, but it felt like too many loose ends with this one.

Absolutely amazing.

I really enjoyed this series of books, there was a lot of dominant alphas ,sexual control, twists and turns, but above all this there was a very intriguing storyline. I loved every character. it was very inspirational, especially when the author explained each character in detail at the end of the book, you could understand why they were doing the things they were doing in the book. You could put yourself in the character place and each one was so different and I loved the hea at the end. They all deserved their HEA. Well done to the author, I'll definitely be reading more from you. Thankyou and I'll be recommending your books to my family and friends too. Great story from start to finish. x

3.5 Stars

I loved the first two books in this series, sadly book 3 didn’t quite do it for me. I was desperate for Bric’s story, I wanted him to have his happy ever after, but the story and the game were just confusing and the players, Bric and Nadia were just cruel and harsh with each other most of the time. I understand it was all about the control and the mind games, but I just connect with Bric and Nadia, they did however have sizzling chemistry, especially when sweet Jordan was in the mix, super hot. All that said. The narration was brilliant. The story, full of secrets and lies. Was still enjoyable, and both MCs redeemed themselves towards the end.
