Summary

Highland Commons: Game Theory weaves a multi-generational tale of the Carter family's entanglement with Highland's criminal underworld. In 1955, Joe Carter's decision to accept help from crime boss Jason Blake creates a debt that can't be measured in money. Three decades later, that debt comes due through his children: Deacon, a Vietnam veteran turned detective determined to clean up Highland's streets, and Queen, whose path takes her deep into the very corruption her brother fights against.

As brother and sister navigate Highland's maze of crime and compromise, each believes they're protecting their father's legacy—neither knowing the full truth about the prices he paid or the secrets he kept. This ambitious saga unfolds across four interconnected stories, each representing a chess piece in a larger game where family bonds are both the greatest strength and the deadliest weakness. Some inheritances are measured in money; others in choices you never wanted to make.
