Publisher's Summary

Having powerful magic that draws you to your fated mate isn't all it's cracked up to be...at least, not when there are five to choose from.

I was happy living my simple human life, but as a halfling, I can only pretend to be normal for so long. I never had any interest in attending the High Fae Academy for Gifted Supernaturals, but avoidance can only get you so far when you possess the ability to control all five of the Earth's elements.

I've discovered that I'm destined to end the longest fae war in history, and in order to do that, I'm required to train with each of the insufferable academy masters. Learning about my magic only brings me closer to my potential mate, which, in turn, riddles me with confusion. Especially when each facet of my magic draws me to a specific man - to the elements' perfect match.

I'm about to set off on a dangerous and sexy ride that is supposed to bring peace to a war-ravaged world, all while maintaining a decent grade point average.

No pressure, right? Wrong.

Entertaining Story and Performance

I can't wait to see where Kaylin takes it next. I truly couldn't get enough! I was really intrigued by the world building. I felt really connected to Tiana, Lucian, and Rowan. The other characters felt a bit like newcomer. Hopefully we see more from these three in the next book, because I'd like to see those characters grow even more. The book itself is a paranormal book based in the realm of the fae. Tiana the main character is half human and half fae who wants nothing to do with the magic she possesses, she is quite happy living her human life and suppressing her powers until she meets Odin. I love the mixture of romance and action in this book and hope Tiana keeps getting more badass. She doesn’t necessarily understand and is asked to fight in a war that she has no real knowledge of.

Not my favorite

This book had a lot of potential, but all of the references to sexual tension and all of dwelling on sex is just too much. I was thinking this was going to be a book for teens/young adults. I would not recommend it for anyone in this age range. The actual story of a girl with elemental powers who attends a Fae Academy is great, but there is just too much dwelling on hormone for my taste. I think the narrator did a good job.

Enjoyable Academy story

Really good Academy story. Loved the different elemental magic of the Fae. The MC was believable and well developed. Narration was also pretty good!

High Fae Academy

I really enjoyed this book though I wish there had been more time spent on the part before the academy to flush a few more things out and show more of some characters. I loved how different Fae had different elemental abilities and the magic was pretty awesome. The main character Tiana was raised as human and didn't learn she wasn't until someone found her and then she went to the academy. That's a lot for one person to digest going from human to not quickly and she adapts pretty well. I enjoyed her journey and loved the men. I can't wait for the next book and to see what happens to Tiana next. The competition was fun too.

Great book

I absolutely loved listening to this book, I had to listen to it twice. The story is very interesting, has its hot moments, funny and cute moments, and so many different things in the plot. I am glad she was able to get into the Spirit Dorm so that she wouldnt be bothered as much by other students.

The narrator was excellent, she was good at adding different voices to each character. She helps to draw the magic out of the story and helps you visualize it.

I was given a code for this audiobook for free and this review is my honest thoughts of it.

Loved this book. It kept me captivated through it all. I want her to pick all of the guys. :( I can’t wait to see what happens next now that she’s with the Dark Fae.

A great start for a series

I really enjoyed this story and the narrator. It is an academy story which I love and not so much of a reverse harem which is a nice touch. That said there are numerous suitors for the MC and as she learns more about her magical abilities and her fated future another male enters the fray. What does a half fae/human with little knowledge of her magical abilities do when she learns that it is prophesized that she will basically end the wars that have been going on for centuries? I gave this story only 4 stars because of ending as a cliffhanger. I was given a copy of this story in exchange for a honest review

Couldn't get past the halfway point

I really wanted to enjoy this book. It was a first in the Fea/Fantasy genre for me. It just seems once it got to the point of only talking about the attraction and wanting to bump uglies, I couldn't keep listening. Not that I am a prude or anything, I just needed more of an interesting story. Maybe I will try again, but for now, I had to stop listening because it was not holding my interest.

A brilliant start to a new series

I don't normally read 'academy' books so this is a genre of paranormal romance i'm not hugely experienced in.
This one was pretty good and definately left me wanting more. It was slow to start and had the typical 'girl meets several guys she likes, can' t choose between them' set up and for me she kind of bounced a bit from loving then hating the spirit teacher. There again lies another thing of confusion for me as being a student, surely it would be frown upon by the academy to be romantically involved with a student! But they didn't seem to be hiding or and no one seemed to care.
The book picked up pace gradually until it got about 2/3rd's in the book and then it running at a faster pace and getting more interesting by the chapter. I loved the character rowen and found it both an intriging and funny to see their relationship grown over the course of the book.
The ending is a cliff hanger, but that isn't' a bad thing for a author as it leaves the reader wanting to read the second book to find out what happened. Certainly i want to read the second one now.
I liked the narrator, she did a very good job on the voices, accents and keeping the story interesting (nothing worse than boring narrators)

I need book 2 like yesterday 🙂

I received this book free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Tiana is running the bar her late father left her and though she knows she is half Fae and she has powers that world has never bothered her. That is until a stranger walks into her bar and tells her she is the saviour of the Light Fae according to a prophecy.
She is whisked off the The High Fae Academy where things get overwhelming for her when she finds out she has been soul linked to the First Fae king all her life.
I can’t express how much I loved listening to this book so much so I want book 2 now ( sorry Kaylin no pressure )
Meg Price was such a good narrator too adding to the enjoyment I will be actively watching for more audio books from both author and narrator.

Fae prophecy

I loved this book, I was hooked from the first page and was so absorbed I had easily finished it in one sitting. I love academy books and this one didn't disappoint, the premise was good with some great plot twists.
Tiana discovers she's half fae and despite misgivings agrees to attend the Fae academy, once there she discovers she's part of a prophecy to end a war and has five potential mates - no pressure! There is so much more to the story but I don't want to ruin that by giving away spoilers. I can't wait for the next book!
