Publisher's Summary

“I wasn’t ready for this. Hannah deserved a man who was whole, not a broken shell. But I couldn’t resist her. Couldn’t resist this. It felt too good. And would that be so bad? To have something that felt good for once?”

Leo Miles came home broken - wounded and scarred. It’s been five years, and he hasn’t left his family’s land. Not once. It’s not much of a life, but the way he looks now, he prefers to stay hidden.

His only reprieve is her voice. He puts on his headset, logs in to his game, and she’s there. They talk while they play, sharing everything but personal details. She’s his best friend - his happy place - even though he doesn’t know her real name.

Until one day, he hears a voice he recognizes.

Meeting Hannah Tate in person rocks the reclusive Leo’s world. And discovering she’s in trouble - serious trouble - changes everything.

Hannah is Leo’s every fantasy come true, and the badass gamer girl is determined to break through his defenses. But between the mess that is his life and the threats to his family’s safety, he can’t be anyone’s hero. Least of all hers.

But maybe they both need saving.

Author’s note: A wounded hero who’ll squeeze your heart. A girl in trouble. And the family who won’t let either of them down.

The Miles Family is best enjoyed in order.

Can’t stop the tears

Claire Kingsley, you seriously are amazing! I love the way this series has been written, it doesn’t dwell on the annoying story lines, it gets straight to the point and really draws you in. I’m sad cause I only have 1 more book left to listen to in this series, I just don’t want it to end. This one really was my favourite so far, so much emotion it was incredible

the best brother story

I was looking forward to Leo's story and wasn't disappointed. Me Kingsley did well with this story and addressing some tricky issues in a romance story. she was getting gritty and maintained Leo's sense of mind then cleverly lightened it with the romantic side. the ongoing dad saga gave some angst but back stories from previous books wove and sealed the fabric of the story. loved the narrator's inflections, giving life to the characters. I would like to finish the miles family saga but 2 hours of Shannon and Ben isn't quite the value for what I pay so I'll stop. great writing great family and all siblings had great stories.

Broken and Whole

Overall 4.5 stars Performance 5 stars Story 4 stars Oh Leo Miles, how I have wanted for your story from the moment I met you in Broken Miles. I was pretty much obsessed with this audiobook right from the start and I couldn't wait to finally find out more about the reclusive Miles brother. This was an emotional story that addressed some very serious topics, but I felt that Claire Kingsley balanced it all very well with humor and heart. This is the 4th book in the Miles family series and would best be enjoyed if read in order. I loved the relationship that blossomed between Hannah and Leo. Even though there is a degree of instalove, Leo and Hannah already knew each other for several years thanks to their shared love of online gaming, so it felt more like a friends to lovers situation to me. Their sexual chemistry was scorching hot and let's just say bedroom Leo was quite the delicious surprise. There is some drama late in the book, but it was understandable given their histories and it was resolved fairly quickly. I appreciated that Leo's demons didn't magically disappear and that it was something he was working towards for himself and those that love him. The epilogue and bonus epilogue were exactly what my heart needed more of - swoons and laughs. Catching up with the entire Miles family and finally getting a resolution to their family drama was also very satisfying. It was a great thread to carry throughout all the books, and though it all finished up a little too conveniently and neatly, I thought it was a fitting conclusion to that story line. I'm looking forward to Ben and Shannon's story next, now that they finally have the green light. Samantha Cooke was wonderful as Hannah, but it was Teddy Hamilton who really stole the show on this audiobook. He was perfect as broody and alpha Leo, but also showed his vulnerable side so well during the more emotional scenes. I have enjoyed this series so much on audio and definitely recommend it!

Wonderful

The Miles family story continues! Up until this one, Cooper was my favorite.... now however, Leo is. This story really humanized him allowing the reader to get a glimpse into PTSD. Very well done. All of the aspects of the story were neatly tied up before the book ended. Narrators were fabulous!!

Leo and Hanna ❤️

This story is amazing! If you’re following the series, you know what Leo is dealing with. If you haven’t read the other books, you still can listen to this one, although you’d love the previous books! Hannah is perfect for Leo. She has been battling her own problems and they save each other while finding themselves in the process. I had read his book before and the narration does justice to al the characters involve. Amazing story by Claire Kingsley.

This book deserves infinity stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Claire Kingsley, expanded her writing by leaps and bounds. I've always had a healthy obsession for the Miles series, but now I think I may have crossed a line.😮 Leo, is a man who feels as though he is a broken shell. He came back from serving his country with half of his body burned and disfigured. He has had a woman in his head for years. Everytime he slips away into a different world, he becomes the person he wishes he could still be and she is there with him. Hannah, aka Gigz, is in an abusive relationship with a cop. She escapes her world by playing games on line with Badger, aka Leo. They talk about everything, except personal details, to each other through headsets and have become each other's best friend. When, Hannah, must go to a wedding at Leo's winery, he just happened to hear her voice. It's her, he knows it. He's heard it for over three years. It's the voice that came him down when the panic attacks start. It's the voice he dreams about. He knows it's her. His Gigz. When Hannah, see Leo, she doesn't understand why, but she is so intensely drawn to him. When she goes home, she confesses this to Leo and he knows by the description that it's him, but how does he tell her, does he want to? Thank goodness we have the legendary Cooper Miles with his brilliant relationship advice.♥️ What would we all do without him? His wisdom is astonishingly brilliant. "Emotional jumper cables...It totally works. Everyone's battery gets low sometimes. Emotional jumper cables, man. It's a thing."😂 When Hannah's, relationship takes a turn for the worst, she needs to put some distance between her and her son to be abusive ex. She finds herself back at the winery, looking for the man she was so drawn to. Leo, wants to protect her. He sees the bruises, but his PTSD does not allow him to leave the family winery. For five years, he's never stepped foot off the property. When Hannah goes back to get her stuff, to stay at one of the cottages, her boyfriend finds her and puts her in the hospital. Leo, must fight against everything to get to her and bring her back up him. This is a story of two broken souls, who have been friends for a long time and help each other to heal wounds that they never thought could ever be healed. A beautiful, soulful, heartening love story, where they become each other's rescuers. The characters are so we'll developed, that if you ever pull up at Salishan’s, you know the Miles family will be there. Counting the days to Shannon and Ben's Epic saga. Samantha Cook, really captures Hannah's essence. She's smart and courageous and has a beautiful heart. Teddy Hamilton, totally sucked me into Leo's character. I loved how he captured the panick and pain he felt in his world and how he was able to show him blossom with Hannah's help. Great job by both readers.

Loved it!

Leo is one that always intrigued me. After coming home broken, wounded and scarred he lives his life never leaving his family’s winery. Meeting Hannah is so unexpected and the feelings that surface aren’t feelings that are familiar for this wounded man. Hannah’s life isn’t east and when you realize what her life is truly like it will break your heart. Leo becomes her saving grace but doesn’t believe it feel that he deserves Hannah or her love. There is so much raw emotion written throughout this story it will surely leave you breathless. Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Cooke did an outstanding job bringing these two characters to life.

So flipping hot!!

I loved this book when I read it and I loved it even more when I listened to it. Leo and Hannah's relationship is so flipping hot! I adore the Miles family. I wish every family was like theirs. I couldn't turn it off! I was walking through the house with a goofy grin on my face and even my husband asked what I was listening to because I looked like I was about to bust out laughing. I even felt myself tearing up a few times because I was just so enthralled in the story!! I just love Cooper he legit makes me smile in every single one of Miles family books!! The Narrators were fabulous they brought out all the feels!! This audiobook gets all the stars!!!

Amazing story

This story pulls at your heart as this is Leo's book. After been injured in service he returned home to heal and hasn't left at all. He's the computer expert and serious gamer, he also fixes all the winery I.T problems. Hes just finishing fixing a problem when he hears a laugh he recognises Giggs? She can't be here? Hannah can't believe how drawn she is to the man in the shadows he makes her feel alive & safe something Jason doesn't and hasn't despite been a police officer. When things get tough she runs but isn't surprised to find where she ends up. Things at the winery are still not settled fully and life is about to change. A wonderful compassionate story that really pulls you in.
