Publisher's Summary

Natalie Montgomery wants a new life. While she may be rich, her life is empty. Her parents were never around, too rich and important to be bothered with a child. And when they present her with a emotionless fiancé, she's done. As a volunteer for the Interstellar Bride Program, she is thrilled to arrive on the hot, desert planet of Trion, and in the arms of a seductive warrior who makes her body burn. Roark of Trion is not eager for a mate. Danger and the constant threat of war dog his steps. But one look at his new bride, and his mind is changed. Natalie is everything he ever wanted in a woman...so soft, so passionate, so submissive to his every need. An attack on their outpost leaves Roark fighting for his life. For her protection, Natalie is transported back to Earth. Roark thinks she's dead. But she's very much alive and so is his newborn son. Natalie's anger and regret grows with each passing day her mate does not keep his promise to come for her. By the time he discovers his mistake, it may be too late to win back her heart.

Erotic sci-fi romance...

This audiobook story is once again about the same universe Grace Goodwin has shown us in her previous books, but this particular story doesn’t have the hero fighting the Hive. Instead, he’s a ruler on a planet who wanted to find a bride. The heroine is a disillusioned woman from Earth who just wants a real loving relationship. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but something happens where she is sent back to Earth after being claimed. Narration was well done.

Great voice acting

Especially the female voice, which had a great storytelling quality to it. It was flexible and clear, and you could clearly tell who is who in a dialogue. Also, the added sounds like sighs and frustration really added life to her words.

Rushed Story, weak characters

I really wanted this book to be good. Interstellar brides? Sounds interesting and a bit unique as ideas go. Problem was, the story felt like you were being rushed to the end. Characters lacked any real depth that a longer, drawn out story would've allowed for. Natalie pouted like a baby when she wasn't immediately retrieved by her mate even knowing that time passed faster on Earth. That just made her look like a spoiled brat. I read the first book from the author and had hopes but frankly, she writes the same two characters over and over again. A woman who is submissive and a dominate male. Yawn. I feel like this author had something, idea wise, that could've been really interesting but dropped the ball to rush into each book. Really disappointed.
