This isn’t the kind of book I would normally read but I had listened to another book narrated by Nicola Coughlan and had enjoyed it immensely so decided to give this a try. I have never picked a book based on the narrator before but she is a very talented performer, she did so many accents and I love listening to her beautiful voice. She really brought the story to life.

The story itself is fantastic! I was completely sucked in to the entire world and loved it. The characters are flawed and sympathetic at the same time and I was completely invested in them all. I can’t wait for the next book in the series

Juno Dawson knows how to draw the reader into a vortex of mystical mastery! My interest in witchy novels had waned but has now been reinvigorated. AND Nicola Coughlin .. no words for how well you read this story .. you were perfect and are my new fave narrator. 5+stars!!

I hadn’t read many supernatural themed books since being a teen, and this was the most perfect dive back into it. I genuinely don’t feel I could fault it. I am now dying to get my hands on anything by Juno.

Loved the narration and the story line. The Irish narration took a chapter for me to find the rhythm and now I cannot imagine listening to the story without it.

Title pretty much sums it up. A great feminist story and who doesn’t love super powered witches! The writing and performance are great. Definitely need Nicola Coughlan as Niamh if they ever make an adaption!

I haven’t loved a book this much in a really long time. I’ve given books 5/5 and then this one trumps them. Plus Nicola as the narrator just makes it all the better

The reviews for this story are amazing so I had high hopes because I enjoy fantasy, however, I was bored and struggled to finish it. I listened to the narration at 1.5 speed for the last dozen chapters or so. The friendships are great, the characters are relatable, sometimes messy and challenging. The witchy undertones are detailed and refreshing.

Had high expectations but the story is drawn out and predictable.
