Publisher's Summary

My best friend's crush is going to be my stepbrother. I can't stand him, but now I have to live with him. It's a good thing that I'm not attracted to him, because that would make everything so much worse.

Heartless

The story is about enemies to lovers, stepsiblings, high school, and a possessive/jealous hero. Interesting story and typical of this genre. The cliffhanger with no follow up is not a good thing for me.

Good Story

This was a good story, the narrator just sounded very young. And no pitch change, just straight reading.

Emotional

This one blew my mind. It is so typical of what teenagers go through. I loved every second of it. Kalena did an outstanding job narrating it!

Story is good, narrator not so good

Short and to the point.
Story was a step taboo high school trope but the narrator killed it (and not in a good way). The story has multiple characters talking but told from the heroine POV. Unfortunately the narrator couldn’t switch between voices. The heroine, the friends, the men and the hero all sounded the same and it was difficult to follow the dialog and story because you didn’t know who was talking at any given time because it all sounded the same.
It reminded me of when a substitute teacher would read to the class.

For fans of teen dramas

Good for fans of Pretty Little Liars and After. It's a fast-paced, drama-filled, rags-to-riches story where the characters all fall prey to misperceptions and prejudices. I would have enjoyed it more but for the narrator, who either had a slight lisp or sounded so due to the recording quality. She didn't do different voices for the different characters, so all of the characters sound like a nasal, whiny teenager.

Cliffhanger!

Overall good listen even though I got frustrated with Lexi and all her meddling in others relationships. I wish there was more time spent on main characters relationship instead of friends relationships.

Cliffhanger!!

I love forbidden stories. I do not like cliffhangers. The chemistry was very good and I could see the lust. I wish it was shorter and I wish the second book was available.

Fobidden romance!!

Wow what a book! A love/ hate relationship to teens. Their parents get married so the relationship is doomed because that makes them related by marriage. I can’t tell you more without spoiling it. A must read! I recommend this book!
