Space marine Lieutenant Jamie Park has a reputation as tough as steel. Just the way she likes it. A horrible childhood and her marine training have forged her into a strong woman, and she's never seen a fight she'd back down from. Taking on the voracious insectoid Kantos is her focus, even if that means being assigned to the Eon warship Desteron and working with the one arrogant alien warrior who's seen her vulnerable and weak.

Publisher's Summary
Okay, maybe hijacking an alien commander's warship wasn't her best idea....
Genius computer geek Wren Traynor prefers her high-tech comp lab to socializing with people, and she definitely prefers it over crawling through the bowels of the huge Eon warship she's hijacked. When Earth's Space Corps blackmails her into this deadly mission, Wren will do anything to help her beloved sisters and save the Earth from invasion by the insectoid Kantos aliens. That includes entering into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the tall, hunky, and seriously enraged Eon war commander who captains the Rengard.
War Commander Malax Dann-Jad is a born protector and has forged a successful career in service to the Eon Empire. Haunted by an early mission where he lost good warriors, he's dedicated to protecting his ship and its crew. Especially since his warship is carrying a special, top-secret cargo. But one tiny, infuriating Terran puts all that at risk when she commandeers his ship and refuses to listen to reason.
When the ravenous Kantos set their sights on the Rengard - using sneaky, underhanded tactics - Malax finds himself with an armful of curvy woman. He and Wren must join forces to fight back and are shocked at their improbable, intense attraction. But with lives at risk, both will learn that strength comes in more ways than one and love can hit when you least expect it, and that in order to survive, you have to put everything on the line.

This Eon Warriors is about Wren Traynor and War Commander Malax Dann-Jad. They cross paths when Wren hijacks the warship Rengard that Malax commands and after more than a week of hiding within the tight bowels of the ship the dreaded Cantos attack the ship sensing it is crippled thanks to Wren. Wren feeling guilty when the crew start getting hurt begins to work with them. The consequences will be dire and the fight against the Cantos brutal. Wren doesn't believe any man truly wants her she is curvy and no super model and Malax will have his work cut out convincing her otherwise. This story is full of action, humour and startling attraction and I loved it. I found myself laughing out loud especially at the end of the book when I found myself full of laughing with tears streaming down my face. I highly recommend this audio book and the series as a whole. Now I am off to get the fourth book. Oh Yeah!

The eyeroll was strong with this one
I like my alien romance heavy on action, humor, and nooky and light on drama, dubious consent, and ditzy damsels. In that sense, this series delivers. However, after the freshness of book 1, each successive book is a paler imitation, making it harder and harder to get past the eyeroll.
For the third book in a row, our Eon warrior is an “all work and no play” alien hunk who is exasperated by an Earth gal being forced to commit crimes by Earth’s military. I could go with it in book 1, where Eve was a soldier tasked with a mission, but couldn’t buy the idea of Earth strategists having civilian tech gal Wren hijack a warship full of Eons and deliver it to Earth. And by the end of this book, we’re expected to believe that this perky civilian can pilot ships, engage in split second battle strategy and single-handedly hold off an armada…riiiight.
Even though Wren is geeky, curvy and clutzy, making for a more unique beginning, the story quickly ends up exactly the same as the two before with insta-lust and then insta-love, the same pet names from all three H/h pairs (her calling him “my warrior” and him calling her “my Sheerah”), and the same clunky descriptions for the between the sheets action (I swear every scene has him rolling his fingers over her cl!t). You can run a drinking game with all the variations of “take me” … as in “take me however you want,” “take me deep,” and “take me, I’m yours”… who says that?! No one outside of campy alien romance books.
Was this terrible? No. Bought on sale and embracing the cheese, this was still fun and campy and thankfully still featured a mostly strong gal (this one did give Wren a “woe is me” ex-boyfriend and a
“men don’t like my curves” complex but it isn’t laid on too thick). I tend to listen to narrator Leheny at 1.5x, so these make for quickie listens.
For better alien romance, I recommend:
For alien warrior romance try Dark Star Mercenaries by Anna Carven (books 1-4 in a value omnibus)
For fated alien mates, try The Clecanians.

Entertaining!
This is the third book in the Eon Warriors series, a Sci-Fi Romance. Wren and Malax's story is entertaining, funny, and sexy. Wren is such a wonderful character, strong, reckless, feisty, and smart. Malax is handsome and protective. Vivienne Leheny did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Kiss of Eon, the next book in the series.

Fantastic narration by Vivienne Leheny
Wren Traynor the curvy non athletic sister has been blackmailed into kidnapping an Eon battleship and is determined to get it to a rendezvous point with the Earth Space Corp in order to save her sisters, Space Marine and Sub-Captain Lara and Eve Traynor. She is not aware that there is an alliance or if her sisters are safe. The War Commander of the Rengard has orders to get his ship back and not injure the computer expert who has infiltrated his ship and his mind as they battle for control. When they are attacked by the Kantos, the situation becomes dire that they work together. I liked this smart, younger sister who will do what it takes to save her sisters, her planet and herself from the threats posed by the alien insects. Wren likes big muscular men and is extremely attracted to WC Malax Dann-Jad , he has already had a bad mission haunt him but is pulled toward protecting the little Terran from his crew and the Kantos.

Good
The book is good and the adventure was adrenaline packed. This is the third book in the series and there is a similar pattern to the other books. Though in this one the heroine was not a warrior, clear the pattern remained. I liked the book but I am not sure I can tolerate another similar story in this series or use my precious credit for this.

Good adventure but still repetitive
I liked this book better than book 2, however by the end I was over the endless space battles. After 3 books and reading the descriptions of the next ones, I've decided this series isn't really good to binge. The stories are all mostly the same and the lack of meaningful diversity in the characters (looks and jobs) makes it even more repetitive.
I'm skipping to the last book since I only have interest in the King's story and closing out the bug war.
Shout Out to Vivienne Leheny! She has been great at the narration of these books and will check out other books narrated by her.

Love the kick ass FL, great action and steamy sex scenes. The first one was great, love Shaggy and all the adventures. The second and third were also good but not much originality in the characters’ depth and romance development-lather, rinse, repeat basically. Decent entertainment when bought on sale

Series Just Keeps It Up
I’ve been enjoying this series immensely. It has all the components I enjoy; adventure, action, romance and heroines that are true partners to their mates. The sex scenes are titillating without being excessive. The males are alphas without fear of their females having alpha traits of their own-no spanking, no controlling, just pure support. The narrator is so good in her performance that she make the scenes mentally visual.

Unique and addictive!
Wren and Malax’s relationship quickly develops and is unique in that Wren is a computer genius and not a soldier by any stretch of the imagination!! Malax is patient, protective and confident! Wren is brilliant, sensitive, sexy and clumsy!! Their relationship works because they respect, admire and accept one another for who they are without wanting to change the other!! In this quick listen there is plenty of action, witty banter and sexy times ! Vivienne Leheny’s performance was excellent and I look forward to more of this addictive series!!

I was hooked on this story before I even got it...
Reviewed by SFF Dragon*
Updated for Audio Version
The Book
I was hooked on this story before I even got my eager little mitts on the book.....
And you want to know why, don't you? Like most of Anna Hackett's stories, it began in the previous book. My mouth watering and anticipation rising I've been on tenterhooks waiting for 'Heart of Eon', the third book in the new Eon Warriors series to come out. It was everything I expected, and more, and I expect a lot from the authors on my 'all-time favourites' list, and Anna Hackett, with her wonderful imagination and exceptional story telling skills, regardless of genre, has occupied a place on that list for many years. I absolutely love her books and have never been disappointed.
But you want to know about this one, right? Okay, but where to begin, that's the tricky bit and I really don't want to give spoilers. The heroine in this story, curvy Wren Traynor, is a usually office and lab bound computer genius with out of this world hacking skills, a love of chocolate, caffeine, exercise avoidance and very few warrior type skills but unfortunately for her, she, like her older sisters Eve and Lara, has been blackmailed into a suicide mission of mega proportions given her background, by the Terran Space Corps. She's supposed to hijack the Eon Warship 'Rengard' and move it to a rendezvous point. Sounds simple enough for a brilliant, office bound hacker, but not when you're actually on board the warship in question, hiding in the maintenance ducts, running out of food, desperately in need of a shower, and chocolate, and coffee, and being constantly hunted by the crew whilst fighting a running tug-of-war battle with the captain to keep control of the ship.
Our hero is the leader of said crew, War Commander Malax Dann-Jad, a usually calm and patient man who has been reduced to practically tearing his hair out in frustration trying to capture Wren. She was putting them in a very dangerous situation as they vied for control of the ship and it wouldn't be long before the insectoid Kantos noticed the ship's erratic behaviour and came after them, and the secret they carried. He needed her to believe him when he told her that her sisters were safe and mated to Eon warriors, but, she didn't. Of course she didn't, why would she? If he could only see her, talk to her face to face, explain.... Her falling out of his cabin ceiling on top of him really was the very last way he imagined meeting her for the first time, but there was something about her that drew him.... and then she got away, again! But he did get something out of the encounter, besides bruises....
I absolutely loved this book, filled with action of the pitched battle kind, humour and steamy bits, I laughed, or chuckled, or gasped, all the way through it. Wren really isn't, on the outside at least, the stuff of heroes, but her kind heart and actions over the course of the story, always trying to do what was right regardless, very definitely made her into one and I loved her. Malax Dann-Jad is very much a hero from beginning to end, not to mention hunkalicious and hot, hot, hot. The characters from the previous two books are woven into the story and make appearances along the way, as do the Kantos, Space Corps and an entirely new type of being makes an appearance, or rather, doesn't, not...exactly..., but you'll see what I mean when you get to Sassy, and I love her too. I really hope we meet her again at some point. Also making a brief appearance is the anomaly that is Scruffy and I'd love to read more about him too. I got so engrossed in the story that I completely left the here and now and became part of the there and then, so much so that I didn't want the book to end, but there is the beginning of a new story woven into the latter parts of this one, and now I can't wait for it to continue. Easily worth so much more than the measly 5 star maximum rating I'm allowed to give....
The Audio
I got this as an ebook when it was first published, and I'll freely admit that I'm totally addicted to this series. I've read this book a few times since then, but I now have intermittent problems with my eyes, so I've turned to audio books to fill my need to re-read my favourites. I did try audio books a few years ago, but the narration was so bad, even dreadful, that I gave up on them for a while, however, Anna Hackett seems to get significantly better narrators than some I've listened to and Vivienne Leheny, the narrator of this book is pretty good, actually, one of the best I've heard. She seems to understand the all action, gritty nature of both the characters and the story, maintaining the edginess to the very end. She really is very good, I wasn't disappointed in any way, and I got all the other books in the series that are available as audio versions to back up my kindle versions, just so I don't get withdrawal symptoms when I can't read them. The audio versions also have the added bonus of allowing me to do other things whilst listening. I find I listen a lot more than I read these days and have already listened to this one several times since getting it. I was lucky enough to get a free code for this audio book, and as I had already posted an honest review of the ebook several years ago, I decided to update that review with my personal opinion of the audible narration, especially as I've been so disenchanted by audio books in the past.
