There is so much noise surrounding pregnancy and birth. There are countless books teeming with information—what test does what, the "rights" and "wrongs" of eating, and "safe" or "risky" lifestyle choices—but few that hold a woman through the experience, acting as an elder sister, a matriarch, or a circle of women might hold her—with compassion, nonjudgment, and, most of all, wisdom. To the authors of Nine Golden Months, this is exactly what's needed now, in an era of high-speed living, endless demands, and more than a little anxiety and fear.

Story
Over the past 50 years, rates of autoimmunity and chronic disease have exploded. In this provocative book, Dr. Thomas Cowan argues for a direct causal relationship to a corresponding increase in the number of vaccines American children typically receive. The goal of these vaccines is precisely what we’re now seeing in such abundance among our chronically ill children: the provocation of immune response. Cowan looks at emerging evidence that certain childhood illnesses are actually protective of disease later in life.

incredibly insightful !!! highly recommended
absolutely flew through this book. I have never had post partum depression as such, but always felt liked I was so anxious exhausted and depleted, and what's worst I've felt guilty for feeling that way!!! no more feeling guilty, new resolutions and goals are in place now thanks to this book. I now look forward to future children and pregnancies, such a good reminder of how to allow proper recovery, taking time for myself and that we aren't meant to do it all as mother's . only negative I would say it's the audible readers pronunciation of some words haha
