Pretty lame when it comes to explain why marriage is so pressures?
I did read many couple and relationship help books. This was by far the shortest and most compact one. I liked the 30 day improvement plan. Apart from the book is lacking a bit of good reasons to be and to stay married? It seems more like a beginner guide for people inexperienced with relationships then really diving in the deep and often very complex relationships of people. I would recommend to read Dr David Schnarch intimacy and desire book after this one which actually gives an answer why monogamy is a really rewarding and good system and less because we made a promise in front of god? Anyway I appreciate the effort of the author even you can see and feel he is hanging a bit too much at church days and too less studying the matter of subject which maybe is the right way given relationships are so entirely different and complex. It needs really face to believe all the sacrifices are worth it. Maybe life long partnership needs an upgrade by society in general as it lost its economic pressures and its hard to justify without taking religious beliefs in accountant.
