Revamped version falls short of the orginal<br />

Although containing several of the old anecdotes from the original and providing a new spin on making friends and influencing people in today's digital world, the book lacks the charm of the first and focuses heavily on managerial and employer skills, as oppose to employee/everyday life skills. Greater focus on the core skillset of connecting the with real people and winning them over is needed.

Boooooring

“Updated” for the digital age by someone that probably doesn’t have a smart-phone.
Tedious cliched anecdotes.
Name dropping.
Preachy.
USA self-absorbed.
Terrible outdated advice.
I would rather read the original.

Helping young minds stand out

My mate was raving about this book back when I lived in student accommodation so I decided to give it a shot, my expectations were skeptical but I gave the book the benefit of the doubt and was blown out of the water with new perspective.

Graduating from high school or uni gives us technical skills for what we want to do but it doesn’t give us the interaction skills used to communicate properly with the generation above us, the chapter about smiling really got me hooked, I tried this in my daily life- smiling at the right moments and opening my mind a little more and thinking in different ways to influence and befriend more people to be a better leader.

100% helped me pull out of some tough situations and look at my daily life a little differently and even helped me gain some confidence in talking to the world around me.

Worth the read/listen.

what a listen

this book is really awesome for todays times it helped me to understand the terminology and the situations that Dale Carnegie used in his 1930 book.
I've got the concept 2 lot better it from listening to the book

Really bad book. Not worth buying.

An all time time seller so I downloaded it to see what all the hype was about. Didnt learn a thing and everything may be relevant 30 years ago for the terribly inept, but not current or useful now. Save the dollars and dont download this dryly read and poorly executed repetitve book.
