Clarity and consideration

Joseph Goldstein has a wonderful ability to share the teachings and insight of the elements of mindfulness without being patronising or bombastic.

His approach is both careful and compelling. He conveys a genuine enthusiasm and love for his discovery and willingness to instruct the novice and neophyte in the pathway to a greater understanding of awareness.

His style is patient, self reflective and humble. His voice is itself calm and peaceful. A pleasure to listen to and appreciate.

A helpful resource for deepening your practice

I have tried reading the book version of this, and struggled, but I found this lecture style much more useful to get a deeper sense of the specific method of mindfulness. Joseph's voice really helps to provide mental punctuation on the really important points so you know where to start. He repeats and rephrased very important points as well.

I would recommend this for anyone who has been meditating for long enough to have some insights but also questions on how to continue to deepen the practice using the practical steps in the sutta, but rephrased in modern English.
