About this listen

Within every community, toxic people can be found hiding in families, couples, companies, and places of worship. The cryptic nature of psychological abuse involves repetitious mind games played by one individual or a group of people. Psychological abuse leaves no bruises. There are no broken bones. There are no holes in the walls. The bruises, brokenness, and holes are held tightly within the target of the abuse.

And excellent, detailed and yet easy to digest breakdown of what hidden abuse is, the effects of psychological and emotional abuse, and a path to recovery from the abuse. Definitely a go to for anyone who has been in this situation or who is trying to help someone in this situation.

Excellent book!

Considering the rave reviews, think I missed something because I couldn't finish this book. For me it was Captain Obvious material talking alot about the issues but no solutions. Too much religious referencing for me and at times the tone of the narrator reflected my thoughts that the author was really focussed on religious organisations as abusers. Having a number of chapters all starting with 'After a survivor of ........'. Made me loose even more confidence in the material.

Labourious read
