About this listen

Welcome to Alison Sherlock's new series, full of heart warming characters set in the idyllic English countryside.

With nowhere else to go, Harriet Colgan has returned to the sleepy village of Cranfield to sell her beloved aunt and uncle’s cottage, the only place she ever called home.

When she arrives at Lavender Cottage, Harriet discovers plans to replace the beautiful lavender fields, her uncle’s pride and joy, with an industrial warehouse.

With time on her hands, she realises she must fight to protect her family’s legacy and the village of Cranfield as well.

Workaholic businessman Joe Randall was expecting an easy purchase of the lavender fields. But suddenly his quiet life is disrupted by protests from angry locals, organised by Harriet.

Can Harriet show Joe that there’s more to life than just work? And can Joe change his mind and help Harriet save the lavender fields?

Over a long, hot summer, and with the help of a stray dog, perhaps Harriet and Joe can find their way home too.

A cosy, feel-good listen perfect for the fans of Holly Martin and Cathy Bramley

A super sweet romance with all the trials and tribulations expected of this genre. I love the characters and can’t wait to listen to the rest in the series. I love that this ties up with her previous series with characters and areas overlapping. Brava! Ps I love those narrator too.

A sweet tale to uplift your spirits!

The last half an hour or so was cheesy and repetitive but I thoroughly enjoyed the story

Charming

A sweet story but very predictable with stereotypical characters. Purely an escapist read for lovers of the genre.

Romantic cliche.

This author is great at creating a lovely cast and setting that gets you to a cosy place. The narrator suits it so well, and it has a charming grown up storytime feeling to it..easy listening with a HEA. This particular story has a FMC with the emotional resilience of a three year old, which is rather grating, but the rest keeps it worth listening to.

another country idyll

Such a sweet and wholesome story. The perfect little pick me up to make you feel good

Wholesome and sweet

At first I felt as though I was listening to a re-write of The Village of Lost and Found. Whilst there were strong similarities especially in the main character’s family background, the story unfolded into a warm and uplifting tale. I could almost smell the lavender aroma as I read.

Familiar, but enjoyable

Lovely story loved the people and setting. Easy listening. Can’t wait to start the next book in the series. And it follows on a bit from the last series River side Lane.

Wonderful
