Story
Harley Merlin can sense people's emotions, among other things. It's how she snagged her first job pinpointing cheaters at a casino. But she has no clue where she got these freakish powers because she spent her childhood jumping from home to home in the foster system, and her father left her with nothing more than a cryptic note. Then she crosses paths with a terrifyingly real monster. Which is when a mysterious and annoyingly arrogant young warlock named Wade Crowley steps in, introducing her to a hidden world of beasts, magicals, and covens riddled with secrets.

Story
Finch is in deep, with no surface in sight. He hadn’t expected a welcoming party when they whirlpooled into Atlantis - although “welcoming” isn’t exactly the right word. More like “mildly hostile”. As descendants of the powerful Primus Anglicus, the Atlanteans are not to be trifled with. But Erebus isn’t leaving until he gets what he wants - and neither is Davin. Caught in the midst of a political battle royale, Finch can only ride out the waves. And he knows he’ll be lucky to escape this underwater prison without leaving anyone behind.

Like most sane people, student Alex Webber thought he was hallucinating - perhaps he'd consumed something bad at the party he'd been attending that night, or he was severely overtired. Although she denies the man's existence, Alex sees her walking with him down a road in his neighborhood he's never seen before - and can't help but follow.

Story
I celebrated when vampires were declared extinct. Those beasts had preyed on humanity for millennia, committing senseless, brutal murders. Like the rest of my colleagues at the Occult Bureau, I looked forward to a world where we could all sleep at night - where constant cover-up jobs were no longer required to keep the public calm and unaware. But the end of vampires wasn't the end of our problems. It was only the beginning.

Publisher's Summary
How does one become an all-powerful Child of Chaos?
That’s what Harley desperately needs to find out before her unhinged aunt raises the death toll.
All she knows for sure is that magical kids are missing, and they somehow fit into Katherine Shipton’s grand scheme. Now that Harley is an official member of the San Diego Coven, she feels more responsible than ever for its protection - and that of the magical world.
But she’s got a whole lot more on her plate than that.
There’s a traitor lurking within the Coven. She still yearns to know the secrets contained within her parents’ Grimoire. And there’s also the fact that she might actually have feelings for a certain stubborn, green-eyed dude.
All the while, Santana faces her own demons, with a magical Purge building within her and a crush on a boy with a dark side, one that might just lead them to real answers.

Drags on forever
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the Harley Merlin series. I really like the characters and the story line. What makes me crazy to the point of dropping the series is that the story is sooooooooooo slow that it is painful to listen. I listen for a while and literally have to set it aside and come back to it later when I have the energy to listen again. Perhaps the author should stop trying to drag the story line into too many books and pick up the pace, end the story line and start another equally interesting story line.

Too slow moving!
I loved this storyline at the end of book one and was excited to hear more but this series moves at the pace of a soap opera and turned me off somewhat. You could completely skip book 2 or 3 or even both and still get the gist of the story, which means it’s too slow. Other than that, the plot is great but I’m not sure I’ll read book 4.

Girl Talk Galore
Granted I'm not the YA audience this is targeted to, but I find myself rolling my eyes a lot at the overthinking girl talk involved in building these characters. I continue to listen to this series in order to find the answers to the questions posed in books 1 and 2, but I'm not sure for how much longer. BUT the narrator continues to do a good job with the separate accents of each character. The material is no reflection on her.

Stolen Magicals Continues the Adventure
I am puzzled by the grumpy reviews that say 'too long' or 'too short' or 'I am over this'. If you are, then walk away and let those of us who are fans of the world Bella Forrest has created for adventurous Harley and her 'rag team', enjoy the ride. This is a world full of adventure, revelations, weird stuff and a dash of young love. There are spells that are dramatic, amazing, fun or downright creepy and if you thought about them too long you would realise that although the author has a light touch (reflected beautifully by the narrator) the story has all the drama of superhero movie.

I like the reader, and I want to know what happens next. I'm just feeling like the story is too strung out. So, I've started listening to other books. I've listened to 9 books, and I'm still not ready to give this series another try.

A little slower than 1&2 but left me wanting more
***Some Spoilers*** Book 3 dragged a bit for me as a lot of time was given to the coupling of several characters. I kept finding myself screaming, “Just get on with it” over and over again. But when it finally got to the climactic scene toward the end, we finally met the crazy witch and got a glimpse of her powers. So now I find myself horribly disappointed that book 4 is not available yet on audible and now I have to find something new to keep me distracted. Who is the Librarian? What can little Micah really do? Who is the mole? How is the Jin gonna screw with Santana? Lord! Get it. Hang through the sloooooow parts and you’ll still end up wanting more just like I did.

Sigh
This book should have been part of the previous book. I found the who loves who parts to be very tedious. It would have been an excellent addition to book two. I think there was a lot of fluff added to make it a novel. I will give book four a try and hope all the stupid pairing up takes a back seat to the story.

Awesome Storyline
I love this series and can’t get enough of it. I cannot put it down and I cannot wait for the next one. The person who speaks the parts is absolutely wonderful and I love how she can put like a different accent on everybody so you know exactly who’s actually speaking. I love her performance and I love this series.

Spoilers
I love Santana. I hope we get to hear more from her as the series goes on. This book was focused on everyone coupling up, and I'm so angry that Harley and Wade couldn't take that next step. Harley's so whiny, and I really hope this doesn't continue through to book 9. Fingers crossed they'll figure out their feelings for each other over the course of the next book so they can become a power couple, and take down Katherine.

Really liked this book. Entertaining all the way through. Twists and turns in the plot to keep you interested and exciting enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Another good installment.
Things don't exactly start to clear themselves up in this one. You are left with more questions which can be frustrating. It seems santana and tatiana are the more intriguing ones, for myself, and I look forward to seeing how thwor story unfolds. I'm getting a little bored of harley. She's slow developing in all things, there's too much going on throughout book for attention to be kept on her and therefore becomes a boring character.

Good underlying story
I am enjoying the story, and like the characters, but........ This series is starting to be a bit like Aunt Aggie's agony column! There's to much 'oh my goodness , will he know how hard my heart is thumping.?’ Etc etc, too be honest, the story doesn't need it and I don't need to know that the team members are pairing up romantically. ..........in detail!
