About this listen

'It is an axiom of behavioural science that vampires are territorial while cannibals range widely.'

Hannibal killed nine people before he was caught. And five on his escape. Two of his victims survived - one of them is in an asylum; but the other craves revenge.

Mason Verger, a paraplegic confined to a respirator since his encounter with Dr Lecter, can move only the fingers of his crippled right hand across the soft blanket that covers his lifeless body. But Verger is very rich and very influential, and his reach extends into the echelons of power around the world.

His need to find Lecter is insatiable. In Clarice Starling he has the perfect bait. As gripping and terrifying as any reader or listener of Silence of the Lambs would expect. Simply unforgettable.

great story, gripping till the end. Voice performance of Mason was often very hard to understand which detracted from the overall experience

better than silence of the lambs

Almost couldn’t finish because of the readers Mason voice. So bad, so hard to understand and so no necessary

Masons voice...

Thomas Harris is a master writer. This book is a great read, so many twists and turns. The ending is enthralling!

Engaging

the voice for Mason Verger was AWFUL. I understand getting into character, but oh my gosh you cannot understand it at all.

All great except...

Such a great read, though dare I say it, I preferred the movie's ending.

timeless classic

The best of the series in my opinion. Red Dragon is great and Silence got all the publicity, though this is at least as good, probably better than them both. Fast paced, with plenty of gore and horror that you’d expect. The ending could kind have been predicted, though was no less dramatic because of it. The narration was fantastic, though the voice of ‘Mason’ was too difficult to understand and at times rather annoying.

Riveting throughout

Excellent follow up to Silence of the Lambs… Clarisse true to form… Dr Lecter - speaks for himself. Found the Italian/Florence chapters a little difficult to follow and remain engaged - stick with it. Overall the last few chapters made up for it.

Great book, excellent reading, but one chapter was read in the wrong order, which would have been confusing to anyone who didn't know the story

Great Book, One Chapter Out of Order

The end to the Hannibal series with an odd finish. Took a while to get used to this narrator who was no comparison to Thomas Harris narrating in one of the previous books.
Kept me interested to the end.

Last of the Hannibal books in chronological order
