About this listen

A 14-year-old boy vanishes on his way home from school. His frantic mother receives a ransom call: pay or else. It's only hours before the deadline, and the police have no leads.

Enter Timothy Blake, code name Hangman. Blake is a genius, known for solving impossible cases. He's also a psychopath with a dark secret and the FBI's last resort.

But this time Blake might have met his match. The kidnapper is more cunning and ruthless than anyone he's faced before. And Blake has been assigned a new partner, a woman linked to the past he's so desperate to forget. Timothy Blake has a secret, one so dark he will do anything to keep it hidden. And he also has a price. Every time he saves a life, he takes one....

The main character and his activities were difficult to listen to and unlike any character I have ever read but, in saying that, I found I had to keep listening to find out what happens.
The story had quite a few twists and turns and I found the narrator brilliant, very clever especially around character vocals.

Interesting and different

An amazing puzzle that would keep you wondering. Blake is a very complexed character that takes time to get use to. But he is a perfect fictional character. I hope he stays fictional...

Not for the faint hearted

I enjoyed the story and narration very much. Loved the unexpected twist quite a surprise! The Texas drawl is a little hard on the ear to start with, but after a while it just becomes a natural part of the characters. Definitely worth a listen.

Gladly Recommended 😊

Fleshed out protagonist, juicy mystery, (e)viscerally graphic, and with moments of painstaking intensity. Great overall.

Hooked for the full series

Timothy Blake is a great anti-hero being both mysterious and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed Jack Heath’s novel, and even though the antagonist was predictable, the story was entertaining, thought out, and well executed. The narration by Chris Ragland was excellent.

Dark, gritty, enjoyable
