Publisher's Summary

The circus came to Halfway, and they brought the weird.

When the body of a young woman washes up in the lake, it unleashes a spiral of mystery that will bring Carlie, Gran, and Wulfric into a storm of magical warfare. Spells will fly. Curses will rain. Amidst it all, Carlie will make waffles, protect her town, and find out if a man from the distant past can join her in happy ever after.

There will be clowns. There will be vampires. There will be waffles.

With love and honor at stake, Carlie has no peer.

Ok story to entertain.

An ok story. Carlie is a strong character with a great support. It wasn't bad but didn't really overly grab me. Might continue with the series if needed something didn't really have to or want to concentrate on.

A fun paranormal book

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Terry Maggert. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

This is the second book in the Halfway Witchy series. I’d already listened to books 1 and 3 four years ago. I’m not sure why I didn’t get to listen to the second one, but I remembered enough about Carlie that I knew I’d enjoy it.

Carlie is a witch. She’s young, cute, single, and very serious about her craft. Witchcraft has been in her family for generations and she has some awesome magical powers. She is involved with Wulfric who is half human and half vampire, and they have a special relationship. Her Gran is a force to be reckoned with and has taught Carlie a lot about being a witch.

When the circus comes to town and a body washes up on shore, things get strange. Luckily, Carlie is the perfect one to investigate “strange.” Carlie and Gran learn that they’re up against something very powerful and evil, and I like how everyone in the town, whether dead or alive, helps them to defeat the evil.

Erin Spencer did a fantastic job narrating this book. Her voice is perfect as Carlie and she changed her tone just enough so that I knew when someone was speaking.

I definitely recommend Halfway Bitten. It’s a quick read and full of action, suspense, fantastical beings, and even humor. I look forward to reading more of the Halfway Witchy series.

ok... but something really irritates me..

I like the way the narrator tells the story. I like how the main character is a bit snarky if not the arrogeace of her. The story is a little slow pace but still interesting enough to listen to. What bothers me is the constant referance to her height and how small her feet and hands are. The book says she is just shy of 5 foot and at other times that she is 5 foot. I am 5 foot and I never think to my self in this manner. When your short you don't think about being short it's normal to you so it is just you.If anything I think of other people as tall. With that being said the book is decent, its not super exciting but ok for a listen if your in between your favs. I hate it when people write a summery about the book as you can just read the one that accompanies the book. That is why my reviews tell what I do or do not like about the book and if I liked it.

Good story with mental distractions

Sweet story but occasional mispronounciations and odd word choices distracted me from the storyline and put me smack into my mental dictionary to figure out the word, how it applied to sentence and debate about who was right ( me or narrator). Narrator's voice was smooth and fit the character, so I continued listening.

I like this series.

I hope the next one is out soon. I enjoyed the flow of this book better than the first. The story is still great.

Finally!

The last few audio books I purchased the narration was pretty irritating for several of the voices. This book and book 1 in the series has me happy with audio versions again!
