Author clearly has no understanding of PTSD

The author obviously has no understanding of PTSD. To suggest that people who get it focused on the negatives and not the positive outcomes of the trauma, is ludicrous and an insult to so many who have served. PTSD is not comparable to people who have benefited from trauma. PTSD is the subconscious brain defending itself/reliving it. Someone can have PTSD and still grow from their trauma at the same time. Unbelievable how this even got published. I couldnt continue after that as it completely discredits everything else he has to say. This is a disgrace.

Great commonsense advice

This was a really appealing podcast. Nothing groundbreaking, but really good steps that are achievable, and motivating without being all American and shouty. I've already got lots of simple ideas that will help me kick start a happy new year.

Got me thinking

Feels like one of those rare books that may actually make me change behaviour rather than put down and never think of again. I've already worked out some of my own habits for happiness.

It's nothing new

Everything here has been said before, for decades in fact. There's nothing new or innovative and it's not even repackaged in a new or interesting way.

The practices here are effective because they've been researched and rehashed many times. Good thing it's free, I would have returned it for a refund otherwise.

Pragmatic Yet Lacking

Dr. Tim Sharp is a positive psychologist who gives you a pragmatic look on happiness. Overall, and in summary, you cannot always be happy and to expect such is unrealistic. Why then did that take 10 minutes to explain?

Sharp then proceeds to talk about creating a vision board to organize what you want out of your life—at the end are a bunch of people who talk about how their vision boards helped change their lives. It did not feel authentic. I also did not know who any of the 5+ people were.

Overall, this podcast is 3/5. It is not terrible. It is not great. It is average.

Just a goal book

Goals aren't what I'm looking for. Had enough of that in sales. This isn't about happiness, it's about goal setting

Very Practical and Practicable

Dr. Sharp lays out 10 key skill sets that can be used by anyone to increase their satisfaction with their lives. I like his positive attitude and examples. I don't recommend trying to do everything at once. Start with step one, let it settle in, and then move on to another step. Maybe don't feel obliged to do everything in order. We should all get this training in high school!

BORING AF

Did not get any value from listening to the first two episodes. I listened while on the treadmill and I didn't bother to change programs cause I was focused on running. As soon as I was done, I vowed to never listen to this guy again. Literally all blah blah blah. I listen to a lot of self-development stuff, this one seriously sucks. HARD PASS!
