When the body of an MI5 operative is found floating in the Thames, police frogmen find a significant clue nearby: Nikolai Sereyev, an MI5 informer and mid-level player in a Russian criminal organisation. Both men have been brutally murdered. Andrew Harvey is tasked with finding his colleague's killer, and quickly uncovers a plot to assassinate a visiting dignitary on British soil. No sooner has he scraped the surface of the case than the tables are turned and he becomes a pawn in a game of international brinkmanship that leads all the way to the Kremlin.

Publisher's Summary
An African militia has a new leader - and Tom Gray has a deadly new problem.
Da Sunan Annabi has a ruthless new leader whose aim is to train British nationals to bring England to its knees.
As their plans unfold with deadly precision and Britain is crippled by a series of attacks, the government is forced to deploy its new secret weapon: a surveillance network that can spy on nearly every human being on earth. It is nearly foolproof - but is it ethical? And does that even matter now?
Soon, Tom Gray and his daughter are in the militia's sights, and their lives depend on Gray finding the man behind the recent atrocities. His desperate search leads him to Africa and Cuba, for a final showdown with an enemy he could never have imagined.

Great espionage and action thriller!
Alan McDermott's Tom Gray series continues to earn 5 stars. Gray Vengeance includes a near apocalyptic strike on the UK led by a government minister. It also highlights the degree to which some western countries are spying on their own citizens. There is an interesting twist at the end the brings into question the future of Tom Gray and Melissa (his one year old daughter). James Langton's narration is superb as always.
The next book in the series titled Gray Salvation will be released on March 6 and is now available for preorder at Audible.

Best of the series so far
Well written, fast moving storyline that balances a number of threads that are inevitably woven into a satisfying tapestry. There is some measure of (literally) "deus ex machina" to the tale but it is woven in early and becomes an acceptable part of the overall story. Much more non-stop action in this book and it fits nicely into the "action thriller" category. Narration is as always excellent. Looking forward to the sixth book of the series.

Love this series! Last book next..
Okay, maybe this is the best one so far. This was about Great Britain being brought to its knees, and thousands and thousands of people dying. And it was up to Gray and his team and members of MI5 to catch the killers. It was a very intense story and the characters were awesome. Well, except all the bad guys.
There was no sex to speak and the F-bomb was used 13 times. I can’t wait to read the final book in the series.
As to the narration: James Langton was absolutely perfect!

Surveillance gone wild
A further adventure for Mr grey with an all too real plot line, especially in this time. A page turner well worth the time. Whilst belief has to be suspended at times it in no way diminishes the story a thundering good read. If you haven't read the preceding novels it would enhance your understanding if you read them first!
