About this listen
A half-birthday + a second chance = one true love? As. If.
Who needs a man when I've got cuddly kittens?
No one's ever wanted me once they discover my secret. I guess that's why I've thrown myself into my work as a veterinarian, as well as become the proud paw-rent to my eight cat rescues. I've even managed to convince myself I'm purr-fectly happy being single.
So when Bishop, a handsome stranger, strikes up a conversation, I don't expect it to lead to anything else. There's no way a guy wanting to start over is interested in love. So why has Bishop got me wishing for something more?
Contains mature themes.

I find these books better on audio as the humour really comes through with the narration
I liked Fulton and his quirky ways. He has his hangups which make sense to me and Bishop gives him the time to be ready to talk about them without pushing
Bishop was also a great character. He wasn’t ashamed of his past which was refreshing, it was a career and it got him to where he needed to be. I also liked that he stayed with the first vet clinic until they made it so he had to change. He didn’t change just because he had met Fulton.
Great

I’m really enjoying this series and I loved Fulton and Bishop, although the “I have a big secret that I can’t tell you about” trope wore a bit thin after a while. Mercifully, both guys were very decent and didn’t play games with the other. There are some touching moments, some steamy size-difference moments, and some cute animal moments which all worked well together. While the series generally touches on a heavy theme or two, it’s mostly light and sweet. 🎧 Audio legend John Solo does his usual excellent job here.
