Publisher's Summary

Three bodies found frozen in the snow. And the hunt for the killer begins....

A triple murder in Moscow’s famous Gorky Park amusement centre rocks the capital - three corpses found in the snow, so badly mutilated that their identities can’t be verified.

Chief investigator Arkady Renkofrom of the Moscow police takes the case.

Renko is a brilliant investigator - dangerously so.

Now, to identify the victims and uncover the truth, he must battle the KGB, FBI and the police - and stay alive doing it....

Critic Reviews

"You'll be engrossed in the atmospheric setting and the complexity of Renko's pained character." (Observer)

"One of those writers that anyone who is serious about their craft views with respect bordering on awe." (Val McDermid)

Classical

A fantastic story. The investigation procedure dominates the first half of the story which slowly opens into an emotional and heart wrenching finale.

Intriguing plot, but off-putting narrator

Rather intriguing plot throughout; I enjoyed that. But the basis for the murders is not so compelling, in my opinion, leading to a less satisfying story.

Narrator was expressive, with a strong deep voice, but didn’t differentiate sufficiently between some characters, making it difficult at times to distinguish characters in dialogue. Also, you can hear the narrator swallowing at times, which can be a bit gross.

Just a good listen.

This is a great book and an enjoyable listen. All the more incredible when you consider the author had not been to Moscow at the time of writing.
