Ein malerisches Bergdorf im Zillertal. Ein rätselhafter Überfall. Und ein Mörder im Goldrausch. Eigentlich wollte sich das Allgäuer Ermittlerduo Leopold Geiger und Anna Zähler im schönen Zillertal eine kleine Auszeit gönnen. Während die Kommissarin in einem Yoga-Retreat auf Entspannung setzt, erklimmt Geiger lieber die umliegenden Berge. Doch als in Mayrhofen der Überfall auf einen Goldtransporter für Aufregung sorgt und der Fahrer sowie der ortsansässige Bankdirektor ermordet aufgefunden werden, ist es erst einmal vorbei mit der Urlaubstimmung. Dass sich Anna und Leopold in die Ermittlungen der Dorfpolizei vor Ort einmischen, gefällt nicht allen, und der Sumpf des Verbrechens scheint tiefer als gedacht.
